    Hey everyone!

Hope you’ve all had a nice weekend/continuation of festive time off.

True to my word the trainers made a comeback on Friday and the (very slow) running has started again, after stepping on the scales this morning it is definitely required! But as with my challenge to become debt free it will be slow and steady to shift the lbs as well as the £s.

Uneventful weekend, forgot my list for shopping but managed to get everything I needed and know what meals are for the week so I’m happy with that. Most payments are out, just a few more and then all essential payments are out and I know where I stand with monies.

After the run (I use that term very loosely) on Friday I had loads of energy on Saturday (didn’t even have a nap and that’s unheard of for me) and managed to shop, clear some of my garden (brambles everywhere), clean, have a relaxed hour reading and go out for a ride on the horse......Sunday I was not so good and did not a lot and regretting it now.

seen a lot of posts about people going through all their stuff and finding loads that they can sell and find myself thinking "I wish I had loads of stuff to sell too" but fortunately/unfortunately vie never been one for loads of technology/stuff so other than general stuff I should have thrown away ages ago I don’t have much clutter so cant join the masses in boosting the monies with lots of sales.

Otherwise it’s all good, will be keeping an eye out for surveys to try and get at least one additional payment in this month.

All you with the to do lists, good effort and huge enthusiasm from you all, I look forward to seeing you all tick them off :j
  • We have stacks of stuff that could be sold, unfortunately my husband is more of a hoarder and refuses to let anything go. Annoying, but it's his stuff so......

Glad you are getting out and about, I feel shocking as have a stinking cold, but am planning on doing a sponsered walk in May, so will need to get out and about soon building up miles for that.

Can you sneak a few items out without him noticing......:rotfl:

Hope the cold clears soon, I get really frustrated when I get a cold and it stops me doing things just because I feel rotten so you have my sympathy. Fingers crossed you'll be out with the walking boots before long!
  • I need to buy some walking boots first lol! But it's my birthday at the end of Jan so will ask for some then I think.

It's the final day of the year and I hope everyone is looking back and relecting on how much progress they have made this year, be it in debt reduction, seeing that there is an issue and trying to change it or just reading along to peoples journeys and picking up hints and tips (like I did for some time).

I'm not really a big goal setter so appologies if anyone comes looking to see my goals, I try to be pragmatic and do what I can but can get very upset and frustrated with myself if I do a "in 2020 I will X,Y,Z......" and then don't achieve what I wanted. As an overall I want to see my debt go down and get control of annual spends so that I can save and pay upfront, anything extra will be a bonus!

On that note I have tallyed up the approximate cost of the my insurances and horse related spends and know what I need to cover the costs annually so that will get me on my way, Would I like to already have the funds there now, sure but the me that has been drifting along the last few years is different to the me now so I can't beat myself up only change.

To all who's diaries I have stalked and those who have taken the time to comment on mine thank you so much, it has made a difference to me and how I am dealing with my finances, I look forward to showing the proof with downwards figures over the next year.

Have a good one everybody, enjoy!

    Good morning everyone, happy Friday!

Not a lot to report from me, it feels like I long time since I got paid and could change anything debt wise but I guess it’s just that time of year. Not much happening on surveys and such like so haven’t been able to add to the little overpayments but fingers crossed that will come in the next week or so, so i can make that additional payment to the current target loan and be done with it in january.......

In terms of the lbs mission I ran/jogged again Monday and Wednesday so at least that is something I can see movement on while waiting to be able to put another amount against debt.

Hoping the weather stays dry so I can get out and about on the weekend and continue with the mission the get the garden tidy, feel like I should have a thread dedicated to bramble clearing!

Have a good weekend all :-)

    Morning all

Hope you've all had a good weekend. I managed to have a productive and leisurely weekend which may not sound quite right but I did lots of work around the house interspersed with some reading and getting out with the horse, always my ideal.

Spend wise I haven’t done too badly, weekly shop was under the £20 budget I set myself with no extra's added in from my trusty list although big spends on the horse as he needed feed and shoes but I knew they were coming so had set aside money for it (ultimate plan is to now save for these each month so I don’t have to strip my monthly budget quite so much).

Unfortunately no movement on debts (not a lot of surveys around the last week) and shockingly I have no movement on the lbs......was quite disappointed in that considering I have ridden and been "running" so need to look carefully at what I’m munching on this week and hope for better next week.

Sorry that it isn’t the most exciting post with lots of movement but even if no one reads it helps me keep my mind in the game and focussed on what I’m doing.

    Have a good day everyone!

Sounds like a lovely weekend, I miss riding.

I went to the west end with my daughter, had a lovely time, saw two shows and a nice meal.

Glad to hear you had a nice weekend too, it really is the small things and spending time with people or doing what you enjoy that makes you richer than any money could.

I know I am in this for the long haul so need to grab onto all the good bits that I can to stop me obsessing over trying to pay everything quickly which will ultimately leave me needing to borrow more.

On the good news I MAY be able to clear the current target loan before my payday. I'm in a bonus ball game in work (£1 a week and was going to stop paying on next pay day as I was already paid up until then) and luckily this week I won, good news in it's self as there are about 25 of us that do it. However it turned out that it hasnt been won for quite a few weeks and I got £200 (straight in the "yippee" pot)! I've already stashed £100 of this into my cash emergency box and I want to keep majority of the rest until pay day just because this is a longer month after getting paid early and not be quite on the ball with not touching the money until actual payday but I have emailed the current loan company to check the outstanding amount (I'm pretty sure it is the £30 I think it is) and hoping that I can pay that this week just to get one ticked off and then I can add that monthly amount to my second target loan.

Will keep you all updated whether I manage this, fingers crossed I can just so that January isnt quite as bleak as normal.

Have a lovely day all :j

Fab!!!! What a bonus just when you need it too.

If it's £30 definitely get that gone, it's such a psychological boost to have one less debt and then the minimum can be rolled into the next meaning that will be gone a little sooner.
