Just had a big catch up!!! Lots of progress, well done!Sorry you’re home alone, WFH takes some getting used to. Having the horse will certainly keep you sane!Congrats on your bonus
and I think keeping some as an EF is a great idea. Especially given the current situation. I think I might try and build one up if I manage to clear my interest bearing cc amount this month.
I’m counting down to payday and think it’s ok to wish time away whilst social distancing is in place.2 -
Woo pay day for me today so I can do a full update.
The first thing I want to say is it was so nice this morning not to wake up in a panic at 3 to make payment to my friend which has been the state of play for the last year and a bitI actually was half way through my coffee before I remembered that it was pay day!
Secondly I can confirm that target loan 2 has now gone, the last payment is being made so another one of the list and target loan 3 has 1 payment left which will be next month. When I contacted them to advise I was changing my standing order they came back and asked whether I could make 2 payments of a set amount rather than amend it and possibly make extra payments so I agreed to that as it wont make a huge difference as to when it will be paid off and any additional payments I can make I will put to the next loan that I will be targeting, for me this little snowball way is working
Thirdly (yeah sorry this is probably going to be a big one....) as I had the bonus I have transferred £1100 into my savings so now have an emergency fund! This is the first time for many years I have been able to say I have any significant amount in savings and the remainder of the bonus I have left in my account, not to spend (hopefully) but to be a buffer so that I no longer have to use my overdraft. The overdraft isn't something I have mentioned previously as it was always going to be something that I would try and creep out of month on month but this bonus now gives me the opportunity to effectively pay it off in one go which I have done and by leaving some extra funds over and above my budget should mean I don't go anywhere near it!!!
The one rubbish thing is I didn't lose any weight last week but I didn't gain either...….and I absolutely know why. Just before all this virus started getting really serious my dad went on his normal month to the canary islands, a week after he was there spain shut down and he changed his flight to last Monday to get home...….that got cancelled though so he will be out there for the planned month as it stands but it could be more, all depending on whether the flight he has rearranged for next week does run. I know he's ok, (they don't seem to have the ridiculous panic buying nonsense we have had), he is in a private apartment and has everything he needs but I still worry so last week I stress ate …….all the bad stuff and waaaaaayyyyyyyy too much of itback to behaving this week and having to work from home and run up and down my stairs to use the loo should help get back on track
This morning I have been to sort the horse out so he's happy outdoors for the day (first naked day for them because the weather has been so nice), as I was out of the house I went to do my shopping (less people at 7 in the morning so less risk) and got petrol so I am now good to not have to go anywhere other than the yard for a good few days.
I hope everyone is ok and no one has picked up the virus, I know being stuck in will be boring (it certainly is for me) but I would much rather do my bit to try and contain it than risk going out for no reason.

Well done! What a nice feeling to not have to rush to pay your friend
Also being out of overdraft before April is great 👍
We are all going to get lots of NSDs in while on lockdown.
so sorry about your dad. At least he has food and somewhere to stay.
naked horse days are good until they roll!!!!2 -

I know my dads ok I just had a little stress about it but it is what it is, if he gets home next week he does, if not he'll be enjoying the sun over there a bit longer
Luckily mine is clipped so even though he rolled the sun had dried it and it brushed off easily, phew!

Good morning all, I hope everyone is ok?
Friday has come around very quickly again and even though I did an update on Wednesday I wanted to post today just so that I stay in the habit....
Nothing exciting to report though sorry, getting more used to working from home and managing to stick to my normal yard to work and vice versa which is helping massively. I think though that my oldest moggy, who on a weekend is generally yelling at me all the time because I'm home, is bored of me being around all the timeBecause she's getting on a little and has recently gone blind I tend to be checking on her whenever I'm upstairs …...mostly I end up waking her up oops!
While is not exactly MSE and I am paying off debt at the moment there was an appeal for a local animal charity yesterday as they weren't able to foster out many of the animals before the lock down came into place and all of their fundraising is now shut off until everything is back to normal. I am a complete animal person and would have loved to have been able to foster a dog if i'd had the chance but it wasn't to be so I made a donation of £10 yesterday, not a huge sum I know but I can't get myself into a position where i'm giving too much and I end up short, but what I have decided to do is continue with the surveys that I do and anything I can cash out I will donate to them while this is ongoing and any surplus I have left at the end of the month I will donate some to them.
Hopefully everyone is adjusting to the new way of living/working ok, remember to talk to people when you can and stay positive

Giving in times of need isn't anything to feel guilty about. I support an equine charity in Egypt and they are really struggling, flooding, the woman in charge has had to fly back home to Scandinavia and now virus worry. They look after over 200 horses, 50+ cats and 50+ dogs. I give every month but this month I gave an extra £10 from my petrol budget as I am not using it.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3

I think it is nice to offer support where possible. There is always someone worse off than yourself and any help is greatly appreciated.
@Drawingaline I support the same charity, scary times ahead for them.
Life is going to be different for a while and I worry animal welfare may suffer.2 -
Aww thanks guys, I was worried people would criticise my decision on that but as you say @EchoB this could go on for a while and animal welfare does need to be considered.
I always think that any one who is able to work for or run an animal charity are amazing and one day I would like to be someone who can do that, you two are both great supporting that equine charity, when this is done I will look for it and see if I can do a small donation to them (as standard I do donate to the PDS*)
