Failed on all counts today- spent money (but sold something biggish on gumtree so am still technically in profit for the day ) Have eaten cake and chocolates at work, and done virtually no exercise- the minimum amount of dog walk possible. Nothing festive has occurred (apart from chocolates at work). Will try harder tomorrow.0

Not made much progress with the kitchen but made a start on the front room. One bag of bedding and one bag of Ds3's clothes to be returned to their room and left a neat pile for him to put away in the underbed drawers before he got in it. Set the dishwasher off then found multiple items hidden in the layers on the sofa.
Worked on my roon, small carrier (lunch bag really) of paper recycling and another fairly small carrier with all the paperwork and bits I want to do something about (notes to transfer into notebooks, mum stuff that needs filing). Cleared the bed, gave it a good brushing and put the new sheets on. Cleared and swept the floor. Still not found the bag with the chocolates in - ah well will be a nice surprise when it turns up (my record is finding one of those 3' long boxes of after eight hidden at the back of the wardrobe in February).
Have called International Rescue (Mr and Mrs Builder) to deal with the drains if they can squeeze my in. Shovelled out another gridful (one brick deep) this morning. Quite alarmed by the noises the plumbing is making.
Had a shower and washed my hair, gathered presents, chocolates and cards for DS1 and his wife. Rested on the bed for an hour then dressed and set off for the bus station, caught the 4.30pm bus (restaurant booked for 6.30pm.
Stayed on the bus as far as Eighth Day (Vegan/vegetarian shop and cafe) as there were some things I wanted to buy (including 2 more bamboo toothbrushes as I'm going to have a set of basic toiletries at mum's and need a new one here too).
Crossed the road to check for buses but decided to walk to Piccadilly Gardens which got progressively mor difficult. D-i-l arrived 5 minutes after I did, son was battling tram problems. D-i-l is covering for her boss this week and had 3 teachers phone this morning, stuck on non-moving trams and bus. She rotated through 3 classrooms handing out exercises and saying she'd be back to check progress shortly but this close to Christmas none of them were doing what they had been told when she returned.
Read my book on the way home, now lying n the bed enjoying my lovely sheets. Today I am grateful for seeing DS1 and d-i-l, for lovely food and craft lemonade (tiny sample glasses only). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Lots of love to you Toni'sfriend.
I am beyond exhausted. Just about 6 more hours of school then the school run to get through and I can switch off completely for a bit. I cannot wait to get home, put my feet up and probably fall asleep in front of the telly. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt

Toni'sFriend - crikey, hope this is the last of the bad news.
No money spent yesterday but did make a charity shop purchase on Tuesday. Need to buy dog food today and call at the supermarket for the last of our Christmas bits and bobs.
DD is off school today, she is full of a stinking cold, they are finishing at lunch time anyway, DS wasn't happy that he had to go, it is a pointless morning really but he's there now.
Went for a run straight after the school run. Beds are stripped and one load is in the wash, need to crack on as I need to leave at 12.15 to collect DS.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Dodgy hug time!
:grouphug::grouphug: for toni'sfriend, who needs it right now.
:kisses3: for apple for offering a free uk-wide hug delivery service :grouphug: for CCL, for services above and beyond the call of duty and end of term activities. 2 hours left CCL!
:grouphug: for mothernerd, and for anyone else suffering the indignities of our kids leaving plates and mugs and carp all over the place. If they can make it to the kitchen to take the stuff, they should flippin' return it. I think a library style fine system may make an appearance in our house.. Gripe of the week - school is out in 2 hours and I fear for my disappearing crockery and glassware. But if their favourite biscuits are not in the pantry, well, that is another matter.
I have just been sent a cheque by dh's aunt. It is one of those rubber gifts, she sends to me a cheque for £X to give to the kids and £10 each for me & dh, then I send her a gift token for £X and give the kids her money as well. I hate it. We have asked her to stop, or just to send for the kids, but she won't. So I will need a trip out to the MaXX to buy a gift cert.
So apart from that, and a few small festive packs of biscuits for step-gran, I think I might be done, until we wrap all the presents tomorrow and it turns out that one kid has less than the others, as dh has decided to be involved this year, and keeps buying secret stuff. It is really hard when they share some interests, so 2 are really easy to buy for, one is like Smaug and only wants gold to lie on and roll in and count, and the other one seems to hyperventilate when you ask him what he wants, like a tricky question on Millionaire. Present anxiety!!
Also, to anyone who has donated to their foodbank THANK YOU, we had 3 x the amount of people turn up to one of our sessions this week. Nobody was turned away, everyone got a good parcel of food, plus a lot of Xmas extras in there, because of good people like you who are so generous. However, if I never see another pack of mince pies I will not complain. :rotfl:. As we are very short on washing powder, I have sent DS2 &3 into school today with their foodbank donation of 2 boxes of laundry tabs. I will no doubt be dividing them up soon ready for the next rush. One small box will do 9 parcels.
Right, stuff to be done, last few bits are on a list, and I am going to blitz as much of this as I can by the end of today. :T:T So it is not a NSD, but I am going to have to go to the bank and beg for £5 notes for all those cards and the queues are horrendous already4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
