Hi @DawnW yeah weighing it up I don't really want to go. I'm not going to say anything yet, I'll wait and see what happens in the group chat over the next week or so and make my decision then.Hey everyone, thought I'd pop on as I feel like I'm going to have another migraine and wanted to update my diary!Last night I just chilled, date guy was angling to come over to watch a film but I felt really odd yesterday (still do today tbh) and so just told him no. I went to bed fairly early.Got up at 8:30 today, had breakfast and watched Casualty (that is my Sunday ritual lol), then hoovered and mopped because ex and his parents were coming over at 11:30 (don't know why I bothered really as nothing will be good enough)...had a text to say they were coming in 10 minutes so I ran out the door to do my 9.5 mile run. I did it, was happy with my time although not as good as previous. Got home and ex and his parents were here....they barely said two words to me but I suppose that's fine as I didn't feel like a convo...they were here for maybe 10 minutes after I got home. Ex told me he needs to come back tomorrow to bring a third lampshade and bulb for the hallway, said yes to that as couldn't be bothered with conflict...So I have some new things in the flat that I want to share with you:
- A new mirror in the hallway (that's fine)
- A new rug in the living room (that's also fine, but the boys have already started attacking it so I might roll it up and get it out for viewings etc)
- A weird picture of flowers in the living room which does not go with the decor
- Two very rustic-looking candelabras on my ultra modern dining table (if I didn't want to out myself I would so put a picture up of these as it is the most ridiculous thing, even worse than the cherubs)
- Two huge lampshades in the hallway (will have three tomorrow) that are so big that the one by the bathroom door gets in the way when you go into the bathroom
- A fixed extractor fan (this is one thing I am very happy about!)
I'm amazed they didn't move the cat tree although it's such a mish-mash in here now that I don't think it really matters. They've left me an open tin of paint too, they put it in the kitchen. What am I meant to do with it? I might leave a note for ex tomorrow to tell him to get rid of it.Feeling very raw emotionally which I think might have been brought on by the row with ex on Thursday...I think again it comes back to the fact that every week there's something, either he's been at the flat and made a mess or moved my stuff or wants me to do something....like I don't get a break from it. Even when the flat goes on the market I'll have to be in contact with him in some way. Wish in a way I could make my mum my proxy or something, but then I remember I'm an adult and have to deal with hard things myself. It just gets on top of meDinner is rump steak from the freezer and rice. Ok well my head feels like it's going to explode now so I'm going to sign off. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday x

Nice to see you've had a good weekend
Having been there done that with numerous dating apps I have officially given up, having had all the d*** pics, the ones which state they are looking for a relationship and turn out to just want the one night stand, turn up to a date and not be anything like the person I have been chatting to (to the point I thought one must have been getting his friends to write the messages to me) or having more issues than the Be*no.........I hope you have more luck than me!
For the weekend if you don't feel like you can truely afford it I wouldnt go, you'll stress about getting the money together before hand and then worry about how much you are spending when you are there. Could you do a little dinner party or something for the birthday girl nearer the time so that you are still celebrating with her?

Hi @bd80s sorry you've had such issues with dating apps! You're not the first person that's said that to me, it's such a shame there's so many time-wasters (or worse!) Yeah I think I will say I can't go but I'll take her for a drink or something closer to the time. I don't really do well in huge groups like that anyway, especially for a weekend!
I made another ebay sale last night, packaged both items I've sold up and posted today. One's gone as a large letter so that's saved me on postagethe sale last night made me £9.85.
Managed to ward off the worst of my migraine so in work feeling mostly ok. Kind of feel like I'm getting a cold now though which isn't ideal. Need to get some baking potatoes on the way home, so that will be a small spend.
I think that's it for now, might think of something else later. Happy Monday!Nov 19 CC was: £1334.95 Now: £0!! 1% challenge - 100% Savings:£300.83February take lunch to work: 19/18

Morning everyone!
[redacted]
I spent £1.75 yesterday in Sainsburys, 75p on baking potatoes and £1 on flipz chocolate pretzels (can't resist them)
Plan is to go to Aldi tonight, will try and stock up on things (not for the big virus though) so I can try and do smaller shops during the rest of this month.
Had to push date guy back a bit as I think he's getting a bit too keen...I've told him I'm guarded atm, happy to get to know him but not promising anything relationship-wise. I worry as well because he seems to earn very well and wants to do all these fancy things that just aren't in my budget. I don't want to scrounge off someone else, that's not the kind of person I am. We'll see I guess.
Hope everyone has a good day!Nov 19 CC was: £1334.95 Now: £0!! 1% challenge - 100% Savings:£300.83February take lunch to work: 19/18

Evening everyone, just popping on to add my Aldi spend!I imagined there was going to be loads of stuff out of stuck but could get mostly everything I wanted. I spent £32.07, but £11.66 of that is wine, extra brioche and ice cream for my friends who are coming over to stay on Friday, so my actual grocery spend was £20.36. Came home to find a neighbour and his van outside the car park. The electric gates that we fought so hard to get fixed have been broken
neighbour seems to think it was over the road, there's a car dealership and when I left to go to Aldi there was one of those car-carrier lorries - he said it backed up and backed into the gate, knocking one of them off its hinges. He helped me get my car in through the one side that opens, and he reported it to the company. Later on a neighbour messaged us all to say it's dangling off its hinges which is fantastic....NOT! Just hope it doesn't fall onto anyone walking past, nightmare.
I need to do some tidying before I can really settle down for the night, no rest for the wicked!Nov 19 CC was: £1334.95 Now: £0!! 1% challenge - 100% Savings:£300.83February take lunch to work: 19/18

Hi everyone!First of all I'm going to confess I am not being a good runner tonight....the original plan was to do 6 miles, but honestly the weather outside is so miserable and I've had the startings of a headache since lunchtime so I'm just not feeling it. Going to do some gentle yoga and just leave it, I don't think I'll damage my pace too much for the race missing this one.I don't know what came over me but I decided to buy a couple of bits for the flat. I think because the new rug does make it feel a bit cozy, the other lame attempts they've made to "stage" it for sale are annoying me. So I went to B&M, and I've bought a nice wall clock that fits in with my dining chairs and coffee tables, and a new throw/blanket for the sofa as the one I was using wasn't very cozy and didn't fit with the sofas. I've also gone ahead and created a canvas with pics of the boys on it to replace the horrible picture on the wall. I was going to get one pic of them blown up, but it said the quality wasn't good enough so the collage is the next best thing. All of this is coming from the "house fund", so none of this is from my own spends technically. The clock and throw were £15, and I got the canvas 50% off at £50 including postage, and I managed to get £5.31 cashback via Topcashback too! My mum can help me put the clock up, and the canvas should be here in a couple of weeks. These are all things I can take to my next place as well, so I'm feeling like I'm nesting a little bitI'm going to have to tell date guy I can't continue seeing him anymore....after telling him a few times that I want to go slow, he keeps sending me sexual messages (not overtly sexual but enough to make me uncomfortable), he wanted to call me for a chat last night for some reason, and then inbetween the normal conversation he was asking me about certain preferences and I was just like "!!!!!! this is a Tuesday!"
He then sent me another message last night (along the lines of oh you're so s e x y) and I'm just like nah. This isn't slow, I've not even known him a week! I've written out the message I'm going to send him just need to send it
Dinner is a meal from the freezer, not really sure what I've pulled out lol. Have a good evening everyone!Nov 19 CC was: £1334.95 Now: £0!! 1% challenge - 100% Savings:£300.83February take lunch to work: 19/18

Sounds as though you're well rid of him.... he sounds vomit worthy!!
Things for the flat sound nice, and being able to take them with you is great. ((hugs))I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy1 -
Just a quick update - I spent £3 on a meal deal today because I've had ravioli for the past 4 work days and wanted a break....and then couldn't find anything I really fancied
so feel like that was a waste but never mind. Spent 94p in Aldi for dry cat food as I forgot to pick it up on Tuesday
Had to block that guy in the end....he said he understood, but then the over the top message he sent me after agreeing to be friends showed me he didn't get it. He messaged me via text this afternoon because he'd been blocked on whatsapp....get the hint guy!!Was meant to go to bookclub today but cancelled because I've started to feel really ropey (sore throat, cough, achy legs), so I came home to rest. Worried as I've got friends staying over tomorrow but if I don't feel 100% I'll just have to push through it and rest on the weekend. We're going out for a cheapy dinner and drinks, and I've got wine in the flat if we want to carry on the party back here. It should be really good as these are my two best friends and we have so much to catch up on.I'm only a couple of coins away from getting £5 from Receipt Hog which is exciting, it's only taken me like 100 months to get hereMonzo have changed their OD so instead of a fixed 50p per day they charge a percentage...but that actually works out cheaper (not that I'm actively planning to use my OD but it's interesting to know). They used to have a £20 free buffer but they've taken that away now. Glad I've kept the CC overpayment money in a seperate pot, just in case!Going to try and get an early night, so will bid you all good night

Quick update - my CC DD came out today, so I topped it up by £3 from the CC Monzo pot to bring it up to £28 (or 2%). I'm up to 25% and under £1k which feels amazingI didn't quite get the early night I wanted as I ended up doing 3 PA surveys, but I don't feel too bad today, so I'm hoping taking it easy has warded off the cold!Nov 19 CC was: £1334.95 Now: £0!! 1% challenge - 100% Savings:£300.83February take lunch to work: 19/18
