Afternoon Gang!
I thought it might be time for a bit of an update.
First things first - No George I am not having one of those redundancy babies!
We're still debt free though! :j
And after 9 months of unemployment Hubby finally got a job! :j
It pays about half what he used to earn, but it's local so no more 90 minutes each way commute. He comes home for lunch! He's still at college two nights a week studying for a new computer qualification and it all fits in quite well.
Mum has finished this round of chemo and no more is scheduled at the moment. The scan doesn't show any new tumours, but she still has cancer markers in the blood so she has to have them regularly to see what shows up. She's feeling pretty good though and only has one or two lingering after affects of chemotherapy.
The kids are doing fine. My eldest keeps screwing pay rises out of his employer which is an achievement in this climate and he has a lovely girlfriend. He's still talking about leaving home, but if he did who would be there to get exasperated at 7am when he asks where his brown shirt is cos he wants to wear it and when I ask when he wore it last and he says "last night";)
My daughter is still managing her own Child Benefit and developing her frugal streak. She doesn't buy anything unless she really needs it and she just negotiated a price with me to buy all her Halloween Trick or treat spoils from her to put one a day in her packed lunch!:D
So it's all good round here! How are things with you guys? Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
