Well I ate a whole tub of strawberry cheesecake ice cream last night! It's mainly chocolate and ice cream, but I will eat anything if I'm really going for it.
Of course you can 'join' if you need the support then your welcome. I'm currently doing Slimming World, but have put on for the last 2 weeks and chickened out of going last night as I knew I'd put on again.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
There isn't a lot of logic in any of it Lucy, I quit trying to find it. All you can do is re-train yourself out of the guilt. Tell yourself that whatever you do during a down time is ok, just one of those things you'll work on, that way you can attack the guilt spending/eating.
Do you have a small amout you can save somehow for guilt free spending when you're depressed? Maybe make a tin pained in bright happy colours with 'Lucy's treats' written on it. Pay a little into it when you feel good and when you feel down empty it and blow it on whatever you like, guilt free.
That's a really good idea. I might try that. I have a 'free' make over booked for the night of my Christmas party (13th Dec) and I am trying to get a £10 Boots voucher by then, I already have £5 at home and thought I would treat myself to something nice.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I've inspired myself as well. On top of bits of cash, putting cheer up things in there like vouchers, a mars bar, little pamper things like a face mask would be good too. Lucy's special little 'cos I'm worth it' tin.:A

Hi Lucy
Have you taken on any of the extra activities that were suggested on another thread?
If you ever want to talk I am MSN most evenings - so just add me.
When I was suffering from depression you do feel like your on your own, and to make things worse for me the person I confided in didnt want to know.
What helped me was talking to people on an internet forum that I am friends with, so I could open up and tell them things I wouldnt tell people that I knew at home. It really did helpSo this is the perfect place to get the support you need and I am sure there are many people here that have been there before

Thank I have, I went out with Mum for a nice walk around Avebury at the weekend and spent some time making Christmas cards and present tags which I enjoyed.
I think sometimes people can be to close. But my best friend doesn't seem particularly interested. It took her a week and a half after I told her what was the matter to call me. Which had just made things worse.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I think the problem is that people dont really understand it and it makes them feel unfortable as they think they have to be "careful" around you and that you could just suddenly breakdown in front of them.
Thats why it was far easier for me to talk to my other friends I knew through a forumMarch 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009

Hi
I think you'e all doing brilliantly looking at the achievements at the bottom of your posts (I'm new and haven't worked out how to do that yet). Keep reminding yourself how far you've come and give yourself a big hug and pat on the back.
In the few days I've been dipping in and out of the forums i have got tremendous inspiration from everyione and it has really helped to lift me (a little bit anyway) - still trying to find courage to acknowledge my situation and get stuck in though.
But we all get those ups and downs - especially when things are tight and there seems no end to it. I'm currently chomping my way through a box of Asda Chocolate Thins instead of going to the gym !!!! and that was brought on by the garage announcing lastr night my car will possibly need £500 of work done on it (if its worst case scenario suspect Cat Convertor on a 4yr old car) and thats following having just spentnearly £300 on recent service and new oil sump. .
How can I ever start to reduce debt when things like this happen
So bring on the chocolate - i've just eaten the last 'Thin'0 -
Thanks guys.I know that some of the problem is people just expect me to pick myself up again, but for some reason I can't manage that this time. Sammiboo, I know some people find it difficult and I do find it easier to talk here. Thanks Bunny, I know I have come a long way, I just feel like I have stopped at the moment. But I am going to try Toto's box suggestion, I'm also going to try it for treats I can have on my diet, so hopefully I wont sabotage that as well.Right off for lunch in a minute... will try to not eat chocolate!! I'll let you know.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0

Afternoon.
Yep had chocolate.... :EasterBun
But I have a plan for this evening. I am going to find 2 boxes and decorate them. In one is going food type treats for when I have had a good food day and in the other are going to go Lucy's Happy Treats for when I am having a bad day.
So Lucy's Happy Treats will be:
I owe me vouchers
Face masks
Recipes for favourite meals
My favourite nails varnish
2007 achievements to keep me motivated
I might also see if I can get hold of samples of my perfume to go in there to.
Any spare cash or vouchers I get.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
