I just hope it really is 30% discount off the real value and not a fictitious high value that 30% off just makes it about the same as similar properties anyway0

Things have gone quiet
What are the details of this 30% discount for first time buyer? The thing about chaos is, it's fair.0 -
I would hope it went to all forms of housing. New builds are already 25% overpriced so it would out them in normal price ranges. It's a shame all these empty promises are being thrown around before election.0

How on earth will this work in practice?
Is this another promise to get votes that will be broken?
Can somebody in London with a 5% deposit still get 40% Help to buy interest free for five years AND GET 30% government funded discount?
The measures to keep the property bubble from popping are getting desperate
The Cameron government also promised 200,000 new homes to be offered at a 20% discount to first time buyers in 2014 - funded by exempting developers from paying planning levies (e.g. to fund the roads/schools/GP surgeries etc needed when a new development is built) to their local authority.
Five years on the total number of such houses which have been built and sold is ZERO - as the relevant legislation was never introduced!
So beware politicians promising discounts to first time buyers!

Pretty much every affordable home scheme I have google only offer 20% discounted rent rates on already overpriced rent prices, no ability to buy an affordable home. Not really attractive at all.0 -

Has Boris expanded on his pledge? We still don’t know all the details and there is not long left, things like this will swing the voteThe thing about chaos is, it's fair.0 -
The tories will offer 30% discount on new homes to first times buyers, there is no reason they will break their promises this time
They will break other promises sure, but this one will be kept0 -

The one who offers the most appealing (stuff) bribes is the one who gets the most votes
