Windscreen ticket Need advice

Dear All ,

I hope Your all well, it has been a while since I last asked for advice. (Aleks1244 previously lost account) I would like to ask for some opinions if there is a possibility of arguing a windscreen ticket someone close to me has received. It all happened at West Middx Uni Hospital parking.
After 15 mins of searching for a space around the car-park, the keeper parked outside marked bays {not intentionally) - it was either that or be late for an important family member appointment.(all vehicles were able to leave without any obstruction). There was a lot of traffic on the parking grounds and as another car was parked outside the bay and the keeper was in a hurry to arrive for the appointment he thought it was a free parking space and was mislead by the other vehicle and didn't realise it was outside the bay as he was distressed. On return, he tried to pay for parking at the machine but was rejected several times so he returned to the car to find a ticket on the windscreen with description " parked in roadway " . He is happy to pay full parking charge but not the penalty. Any advice?

your first port of call will be PALS .... and then the first template ... do not miss the deadline for this while waiting on PALS


make sure that they do not disclose the drivers name.

with a windscreen ticket that is the notice to driver ... the newbies thread will tell you when to appeal that , in the hope that they will forget the notice to keeper.

I have spoken to PALS and they have asked to send some evidence of the appoitment and the tickets and they will try to help but dont promise anything.

With the above as soon as im home i will read carefuly thanks guys

Please advise when sending proof to Pals can all names and surnames of patient and actual keeper be visible on doctors letter ? Could this information be passed on to UKPC by Pals? Also do i tell them the actual situation being that vehicle was parked outside of bay which was due to being mislead by another vehicle parked infront? As keeper was stressed about being late for family member appointment due to traffic in the parking area has only made him reliase the mistake on return to car?

No, you don't go on about excusing how the car was parked. Forget that.

You DO have to give the patient's name and the keeper's name but clearly that's not the same as saying who was driving, as the patient and/or keeper could have been a passenger.

You do know not to appeal yet if it was a windscreen PCN, as per the NEWBIES tactic for those PCNs...read it again if unsure and please don't come back and quote it at us and ask if it's right. Yes, it's right.

Pals replied - discussed it with my colleagues at PALS. Unfortunately we do not have the authority to intervene with the Parking company. However you can appeal against the ticket invoice.
Hopefully they might take your father situation into consideration and cancel the invoice.
