You know that article would have more merit if it removed the ev part.

Software issues.... Windows xp was launched with 13Million known issues.
Various Renault and Citroën cars have been setting themselves on fire for all the time they have been manufactured.

Even my "premium brand" merc company car has several known issues with its software, reversing cameras,  handbrake etc etc.

So yeah, remove the ev part from the article, I'm right there with you.
With the EV part, it just looks like petty sniping tbh.

Ev and Pv, the article title is somewhat misleading eh, suggests he said to everyone,  don't buy my cars, but really he is saying what most of us already know, if you buy a brand new model or one done during a ramp up, you are much more likely to get problems.
So he told his mates that they would be better buying one during a normal production run.... seems like a "no !!!!!! sherlock" moment to me.

Agreed. The headline has been somewhat "loaded".
I'm wondering if it'll put folk off ordering for now though ??

As an investor in Tesla I want them to do well but I can't help thinking that the mainstream manufacturers are catching up fast.  And the likes of Ford and GM have hardly started...

Model 3 with LFP cells: The big nextmove winter test

Nextmove who run 40 TM3s have been investigating some of the problems (including range as low as 160km and very slow charging) reported by customers who have the MIC TM3 with the LFP battery. The author points out that problems with the LFP battery tech are likely to affect all manufacturers not just Tesla. It seems though Tesla decided to launch cars with these batteries without an appropriate level of testing.

Here are a few of their comments but if you are interested in the TM3 then I would recommend you read the whole article.

No other electric car has provided us with such stark test results so far.

Nevertheless, it was only possible to charge at the fast charger with about 30 kilowatts of power. This led to the negative user experience described at the beginning, because the charging power remained at this level over the course of the next 15 minutes and the entire charging process would probably have taken two hours. A VW ID.3 would have now already charged with about 60kW – the Model 3 achieves only half of that. After 15 minutes of charging, the battery was then at 17°C, but the charging performance was still unsatisfactory at 30kW. The normal user would probably turn to Tesla and ask for help.

What are the costs of such a preheating process? The cost are estimated about 5 euros of heat investment into the battery at the temperatures in the test.

It was noticeable during both test drives a low net withdrawal from the battery – the on-board computer showed 44 to 46 kWh withdrawal. The vehicle registration document shows 55kWh. Comparable values for new Tesla Model 3 from US production are in the range 51-52 kWh withdrawal according to the on-board computer.

The term vampire loss is actually exclusively associated with Tesla. At 2% per day, that’s about 100 euros in electricity costs per year.

Why does the Model 3 have such high [charging] losses of 19%?

Tesla says its faulty touchscreens that led to a recall were only built to last 5-6 years

Tesla's legal chief, Al Prescott, pushed back against the regulator's definition of a "defect," arguing that the eMMC memory devices in question were only built to last five to six years. He said that lifespan is standard for infotainment systems in the industry.

The tech behemoth reportedly plans to ink a deal with the South Korean car manufacturer on February 17, according to news outlet DongA Ilbo (via Bloomberg), with plans to launch the Apple Car in 2024.

The report suggests Apple has set an initial target of producing 100,000 cars per year, which may later be expanded to 400,000 depending on commercial reception of the vehicle.
