Good morning.
Thank you for the thread Valli, I am still here!
I've done a fair bit of sorting over the last two weeks and I do like the pick and mix approach. I tend to tidy something when it shouts at me!
Today I'll start with a shelf of photos and nik naks and see where it goes from there...August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Good morning
A bonus day off today (most of it anyway). The house has been struck with a d&v bug - me Sunday, DS Monday and DH yesterday. I was working yesterday with 1 LO & 2 after school, but DH & DS stayed upstairs. I informed the parents of the situation so they could decide whether to send children. 1 chose to keep her LO at home. DS is back to work, but DH is still off work. He is a postie, so quite a physical job (especially at this time of year!), so he is just making sure he is recovered. Parent has decided to keep LO at home again, and my other LO is poorly.
We have taken advantage so far to deep clean the bathroom (DH has done it, so I will check in a mo if it needs more! :rotfl:). WM has 2 loads in/done, and 1st load is in TD. Next stop kitchen & utility. We may also take the dog for a walk as it looks nice out. I will need to get a bit of food shopping too.
Bins have gone out, and I need to top up the compost - is it sad that I am proud to say that I haven't put out a food bin for months! I am now working on shredding and composting the majority of the paper/card. It's just the plastics that are the problem, and I am trying to reduce where I can (it's not easy!)
Well done Dizzy on your inspection. Well done Pigpen on your organisation skills - I am in awe (especially for the size of your grocery bills!)
Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them.0 -
Good evening all
Another long day done. DW unloaded, WM on ready for me to hang out in the morning, kitchen put to bed, general tidying done. Exhausted from work today and no doubt more of the same tomorrow.
Sleep well all xx0 -
Put one load of washing on before I went out this morning; Mr N hung it out and brought it in then I put it away when I got home this evening - what a team.
Went to aqua aerobics on my way to work.
Did an assessment. Long but a lovely student.
Got home late and tired so bottled out of dancing this eve. Slumped in front of a recorded TV programme but at least I wrote several Christmas cards out once I'd eaten dinner.
Ordered my e advent calendar plus one for my mum (we're not really 61 and 88; more like going on 8.........).
Caught up with other admin including writing a real letter with a real pen and paper to put in a birthday card.
Doesn't sound like a lot but I'm not sitting up late writing up a report tonight.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
It’s quiet on here today....
DS’s bedding washed, dog walked, DW put on (not emptied, but hoping DH will do it before he goes to work :rotfl:), Washing up done.
2 and a bit hours of the paid stuff - pick up from school, tea & then attempting to teach the girls how to crochet! I think I am going to see if I can buy some bigger hooks tomorrow as that may be easier
De cluttered some recorded tv from the telly box. I have another day off (a whole one this time!) as the LOs are poorly. It will be back to normal next week I’m sure. So I have turned off the alarm, but hope to not waste the day! I think I will make a list in the morning.
Sleep tight everyone0 -
Well I was very pleased with myself as, this morning before I left for work (aim to be out by 11:30 when I'm only working the afternoon) I had cleaned both the kitchen and bathroom. After work we had parent's evening. Came home, ate tea and started watching master chef and fell asleep. :rotfl:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

A cold and grey day here, not as cold as yesterday. minus 4C when I went to work and it seemed just as cold when I came home so didn't fly, but did turn the tired potatoes into a very nice Dauphinois which was enjoyed for dinner.
Not at work until 5pm tonight so will be flying. Tidying the living room, washing and admin are on the agenda. Plus need to go and register to vote soon to be able to vote next year. At last I can vote somewhere!
Off to load WM whilst kettle boils again0 -
Morning.
Thursday is becoming my flying day it seems.
I've written a list on paper (did it in the car)
Couple of jobs done already (bins out & wm on) will crack on with the rest. Hopefully done by 12:30 as I want to go out and do some shopping this afternoon.
Have a good day.
