Permission homes at harrow view london

I have been looking to purchase a 4 or 5 bed terraced home from here. But after i done a google search on reviews i have found a number of reports of people complaining about snagging, poor aftercare, poor workmanship.

Its hard to find affordable new build in london for 600k. Is it worth going through permissionhomes?

I have also found reports of independent companies auditing their workmanship and customer services dates april 2019


Barrat homes is doing development right opposite but townhouses for 650k.

    Dont touch them,friend has bought one had 67 snagging faults,problems getting them fixed.

    Why would you touch them,buy an older house,bigger rooms,bigger garage etc.

    I am assuming you mean Persimmons, they do have a lot of problems but surely not all their house builds are bad or why would people buy them. You take a risk.

    Yes. I also read something about keeping hold of 1.5% in case of these issues ever since an independent has been assigned to review the developer. Reviews on google show people have been waiting for over 2 years

    Persimmon (it's a type of fruit) and Barratt Homes are just about the same - they all build tiny, imagination free boxes to the absolute minimum standards they can get away with.

    They also employ jobbing building/subcontractors who are unlikely to take any pride in their work as they do a bit of building on a site and move onto the next. The builders are very likely to be the same people on your Barratt's site as on the Persimmon.

    The actual home quality will depend on the site foreman.

    £600k is much too much for a property in that position. What makes property worth what it is in Harrow is how close it is to a station. If you look at comparisons for second hand properties for that local area you will find that it is cheap area. That is because it isn't close to a station.


    This is what a 4 bed terraced house nearer to a station costs. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-64506354.html By buying new you are going to be paying close to £100k extra. The new house when it becomes 2nd hand is likely to lose £100k in value.

    I "Blimey'd" several times looking at that one. Been years since I lived in Harrow but wow for that busy and unappealing road half a million for a terrace, and wow Kodak has been flattened.

    Once you realise that second hand property is cheaper than new you realise that the new property is in a not very good area and that can be just not very good or not very good and too far from shops and a station. The Kodak area of new housing is in an area that is too far from shops, stations and it is in a not very good area which is why it is relatively cheap. The problem is that although it is relatively cheap now it has the chance of losing money rapidly once it is no longer new.

    Persimmon have got a bit of a bad name at the moment but not every house that they build is a bad one. You will find that it is only the vocal minority who are unhappy with their homes that write reviews.

    Build quality does vary from site to site and you need to make sure that the homes are well built. Try to talk to some existing residents and find out how they are getting on with their new homes before comitting to anything.

    Personally I would never consider a new build for a myriad of reasons but mostly because they are soulless. However, my sister bought a Persimmon home in Exeter a few years back and its a lovely house, never had any snagging issues. I think sometimes its dependant on the local site manager as to what issues arise.
