Final update.
Got ombudsman result and my complaint was upheld:j
1. Edf have to write a letter of apolgy for failure in customer service.
2. I got some compensation
3. I got the period of revision extended to 10 months (from 6) to include summer and winter period. Then i will be rebilled for last year on my average consumption :T
Anyone else that has a similar problem with the Landis & gyr 310p meter ( there are a few here on the forum already) my main tip would be to take regular readings and photos of the meter.
The main thing both the ombudsman and energy company look at is average readings.
Photos of the meter are important so your energy company cant accuse you of giving false readings !0 -
Could someone please check my maths regarding the 'refund' i should get from the faulty meter
Faulty meter readings 09/04/19 : 5731
27/12/19 :7266
New meter 27/12/19 : 17887
11/08/20 : 18202
My gas price at this time was 3.028p
The Ombudsmans decision was to review my usage with the new meter until 31/10/20 then adjust my account
accordingly. I just want to check im on course to not end up with a large deficit.

Matthaus73 said:Could someone please check my maths regarding the 'refund' i should get from the faulty meterThe old meter showed 1535 cubic metres (about 17092.86kWh) over 262 days, costing £517.57, assuming a calorific value of 39.2, an average of 65.240kWh per day.So far the new meter shows 315 cubic metres (about 3507.66kWh) over 228 days, costing £106.21, assuming a calorific value of 39.2, an average of 15.384kWh per day.Unfortunately the faulty meter covered mostly summer usage but the new meter includes the worst of the winter, so you haven't done yourself any favours by agreeing to an unrealistic comparison. You should have agreed to 09/04/20 to 27/12/20. You're likely to get a refund, but not as much as it should have been.1

I know what you mean but originally the Ombudsman suggested a 6 month peroid , i extended it to 10 months so i could leave my current supplier at the end of contract (which i already extended for 1 year at the advice of the ombudsman) cant wait to leave and have freedom of the market0
