    Hey Babs
My ghast is flabbered by the Scottish flat numbering and c*ck up with the energy suppliers....  :open_mouth:

Hope they finally get it sorted for you - and there is no horrible bill lurking, if they try to whack a huge charge make sure you point out how long you have been trying to sort it out and you might get a goodwill discount?

At least you have your garden, and loads of positive things going on there...  :)

I ditto the giant cat litter gravel garden point, larger sizes or even tumbled slate (as it is flat and slidy) seem to work better... and any thorny cuttings e.g. roses, hawthorn, goosegogs, laid on newly dug beds discourage natural cat tendency to poop and dig just after you have planted out seeds/seedlings! :#

Doesn't really hurt them, it's just not comfortable for them to squat on a thorn by mistake, and they don't want to repeat the experience! Tried chemical deterrents/repellents but only work until it rains, not really a solution in your neck of the woods....

And giving them a 'set area' to use and scent is even better, with a little of cat crack aka catnip plant next to it means they at least can do their business in comfort naturally! Then it's just a case of scraping and binning one area, not the whole garden becoming cat toilet heaven. Funny how they like to use the same spots over and over again, must be a territory thing....

Ren, my flast was gabbered when it came to the differences, never expected it for a village flat. Don't get me wrong, it's very quaint having the old one, but as most have it set up the normal way it's not normally an issue.
The meter issues are in the hands of the current provider, who denied they were originally. They have to update all the meters and addresses, then the swap can take place.
I will be lodging a complaint with the current provider as they denied it to start with!

The spare money from the deposit refund (if the LA agrees with the deposit company) and the refund from the old electric company, should cover the bills to date, from payday I will earmark £60pm for it.

The supplier we are 'moving' to is a lot cheaper than the 'existing' supplier.

I'm not fussed about the cats using the garden as a litter tray, it was obvious they couldn't resist the lure of freshly dug soil 😁

Good luck with the cats. DH has spent months!!! building a small patio to put a shed on and the dog insulted him by repeatedly using it for her business. DH was very unimpressed. The best bit about having a cat of your own - is they don't normally do their business in your garden and can chase off the other cats. It doesn't seem like your cat is owning the area yet...

SH, mine is an indoor cat. OH treats her like a princess and she owns him and the sofa 😁
I think your dog was showing appreciation for DH's efforts 🤭

  • Good news that the deposit refund should cover the energy bill. All sounds like a bit of a headache I bet you will be glad once it’s sorted

Skinty, I just want it settled as it's one less thing to deal with.
Will need to check what else is to be updated, but it may just be my car / licence and I think they have opened up to accept paper applications now. Thankfully, when unpacking I found the list I compiled when moving to the old flat and can cross-reference it all.

I've booked some time off work, feeling drained, exhausted and demoralised.
Will be doing photography and exploring as my camera is up and running, just need to get my space sorted out for reviewing and uploading what I've taken.

The mint I had in water is ready to plant. Picked up some packet mint from my usual supermarket and it's got even more flavour; will be seeing if I can get that to sprout!
I have learned when I get bitten / stung, it flares my pain up 🙈

My banks cash r3ward arrived today, moved it to savings; should be monthly now.

£34 in the bank, 17 days to payday.

    Hey Babs
I'm not surprised you are so exhausted, moving is about the most stressful thing you can do, never mind hiccups with suppliers, etc.

You've done so much between you and 'Rambo', but now you've done the majority of what you want, it sounds like your body is saying 'Oi, give me a rest!' I know that feeling, where you are running on adrenalin, all the excitement of moving and getting things right. Then you hit that 'wall' and you are forced to take time out, like the tank is empty and you are existing on the 'fumes'...

I am banning you from digging, etc., get some good insect repellant (something with Deet in it? OR the infamous Avon body oil?) because they will be having a feast of you up there in the garden and get those feet up. :)
