We had thunder, lightening and plenty of rain all night, it was like watching a river from the window, the estuary didn't rise and it was very warm / muggy. Quite a few areas in this county were seriously flooded, roads have collapsed and other tragic events.
Today it's been sunny, blue sky and hot, which will hopefully allow the north to dry out.

Spent some time in the garden after work.
OH is pottering around the garden on his non-working days, also clearing 3 neighbours gardens; we are having the waste for compost.

Apparently the electric refund will arrive in 9 days. No news yet about the rental deposit.

Had chicken in a cream sauce, new potatoes with chives for tea, yoghurt later for pudding; anyone else like the crumble yoghurt from a1d1 🤗

  • We have thunderstorms & torrential rain forecast here in the south tonight. Very muggy now. Very sad news about those killed & injured in the train derailment

Decided to have YT playing music this afternoon to help me power through work, Rick A came on as I was logging everything off. I left it on and have listened to all sorts from Kenny R, Joan J, to ZZ T, Midnight O, AC/. Shame the speakers are rubbish on the laptop. Somehow I have managed to resist buying a decent sound system since moving.
The flat looks more like a bachelor pad with a few feminine touches 😂
F00tl00se came on and I may have done some moves I was taught during my Scottish dance classes. I do crazy things at times, but also need to have periods of being 'abled' even though it hurts like ****, no regrets 😁

Watered the greenhouse plants, moved a few pound to savings and I think it's going to rain.

I only did one song and am still paying the price 😁
Put music on again today as OH was working on the monster tree stump. He is such a geek, walked in named the artist, song, album and year it was released 🙄 I switched mine off after that and he put some on. The first song he put on was the last one I had playing last night before he came home; I didn't even mention that artist last night 😯

I've started another lot of mint cuttings, even nicer flavour than the a1d1 ones I've rooted.
Have a good selection of lemon and orange seeds, will get those planted up this weekend.

Need to water the garden later, it's been hot again today.

Plans for the weekend will probably include a little tidying / cleaning as I do bitesize tasks, potter in the garden and some pampering.

Had lamb and mushrooms in a cream sauce, with boiled spuds for tea. Bakewell tart and cream for pudding.

    Hey Babs
Hope the crankyness has worn off, and the garden is having a soothing effect on you, thank goodness the weather has broken a bit now.... Well, I say a bit, for us lot down here, up where you are it sounds more like you should be building Noah's ark!

I caught up! I hope you are feeling a bit better and are chilling this weekend. You have good taste in music I sold my rock CDs when I saved for my downstairs extension.

Thank you SH, Ren and SW.
I'm just overtired and need a break, in all honesty even if I had a month off it wouldn't make any difference as the pain won't go away.

The rain flows downhill, therefore little chance of needing an ark!

I left nearly all my music behind, aside from a few CDs. Now I find what I want on YT and play it, sometimes I pick an age and era and leave that going. If I had a detached house or bungalow then I would be replacing everything and having a good stereo, but not going to do that in a flat.

Today I've done the kitchen and bathroom, overdone it therefore feet up for the rest of today.

Will be ordering dust sheets and sanding pads the day before payday, that way I can get the lounge units finished. Then I can make a start on the skirting followed by the door and frame.

At some point this year I will buy some ladders that way I can do all the walls / ceilings in the flat and start making plans for painting the communal areas I'm responsible for.

I know it's strange making plans to do physical tasks, but I'm not prepared to not do things in my own home, just takes a lot longer than I expect it to.

OH is making plans for our time off, has listed a few places off we are going. Apparently great photo opportunities and I'm looking forward to it.

Having roast chicken and veg tonight, I need to grab some herbs from the garden before OH and the chicken are back 🤗
