Lucky you MF! My hair needs doing but, haven't braved an appointment yet... I think we all deserve a treat when we can, it's a mood booster!"...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Thank you Skinty, SW and Ren 🤗
My OH took a photo so I could see the length of it, I never realised it got that long due to putting plaits in near enough since lockdown started.
Everyone wore masks, shields, disposable cloaks, loads of sanitiser. Gave me the option of them wearing gloves when doing the waxing. Because they have been open a few weeks, everything they did seemed natural and without having to think about it.
I've booked an appointment to have the works done, eyebrows, dye etc, that's the start of September. Will see how it looks as that will determine if I do it all with them, or just the waxing.
I ordered curling irons last night, they just arrived.
Waiting on the refund from BG for the old flat, was told it's 21 working days now.
No response from the old LA to our comments about the condition of the flat when we moved in and rejection of their request for the whole deposit. I guess they found the inventory I hand wrote everything on and knew they would lose. Just have to wait 21 days for the tenancy deposit place to decide who 'wins'.
My flower garden wall has started to be built by OH. Hopefully that will be ready to plant by the end of next month.
The bulk compost / manure will be ordered next month. OH is organising that. (Think he is relying on the old flat deposit refund)
Did some gardening last night. Started to dig the monster tree stump out ie remove the soil so OH can do the rest. Got a lot more soil to remove, will be doing that over the next few weeks. Need to do it the same way I did the others, only on a bigger scale 😬
Due to it being the start of the month, I've moved money to savings. Paid some of the CC off and made £50 O/P.
Start of month bills come out on Monday, I'm going to move the unused commute costs each week to savings.
Definitely on schedule to meet the £500 savings target as over 3/5 of the way already.
I can't believe it's only been 3 months since the purchase, feels like I've been here a lot longer.
It's a beautiful sunny day, all the windows are open and I'm relaxing on the sofa 🤗

Enjoy the lovely weather, I hope you do get your deposit from the old flat. Happy gardening and well done on savings target. Fab news.Aiming for a minimal spend 20223

Hey 'Babs'
All this gardening malarkey, sounds like very good exercise, been doing some too... Dog freaks out a bit because every time she ventures in the garden something has changed, she has to creep up on it slowly, and give it plenty of sniffing, and then wees on it if it gets her seal of approval! Remind me to get the veg in raised beds...."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Thank you SW and Ren.
The raised bed for the salad bar is made from the old fence from the secret garden. I would like a proper raised bed made from railway sleepers; chunky and would last for years. I give everything a good wash before eating and don't think about what nature has done on it 🤫
Did some weeding and revealed more of the monster tree stump roots yesterday.
Trying to get enough exposed to hack / saw / drill them, get the stump out to about 3ft down and let nature do the rest over time.
It may take the rest of this year to get it out 😬
Took me 3 songs to curl my hair yesterday with the curling iron. Mastered the art of it halfway through.
-- ordered a heat mat and sectional clips.
OH broke a cat bowl yesterday, has ordered her some new fancy ones today. Considering she has her own pocket money tub, she never uses it.
Popped to my local butcher yesterday and picked up some T-bones and other bits.
Having a relaxing day today as both of us overdid it yesterday.
Food, TV, watering the garden and being at one with the sofa is my plan 😁

Definitely a good idea, worse thing in the world forgetting to wash, and finding a creepy crawler on it, even worse half a bug after you've ate it!

I am a great fan of stump killer....

Sounds like voluntary self torture, I am going the 'natural' way and letting it dry on its own now... unfortunately instead of the neat waves as I imagine, I tend to look like i have been dragged through the hedge backwards....

You have a keeper there, an MSE cat! Erm, should've said that about your OH really! He he..

Trying to keep chemicals away from the garden Ren. The monster tree wasn't cut down to ground level, unfortunately, so working with a stump about 2 or 3ft tall, plus how far we dig down. Slow and steady wins the race!
Everything in the garden is now producing food, should be a good crop and I've big ideas for next year.
Yesterday I made a mistake and went shopping for bedding. The stuff we had was at least 10 years old and nothing from 'us' being a couple. Spent £90 in Dun31m, £30 in arg0$ and £18 in $a1n$bury on food, effectively spent the rest of my commute costs for the month 😱
My pension contribution is now showing as being received.
Bills have come out today. Potentially just the CC minimum payment and the bank monthly fee, the rewards for having this account are showing as pending; over the next few months I will get into the routine of cashing them in and saving them.
I did move more money to savings yesterday and am on track for meeting my £500 target.
£48.46 in the bank, 25 days until payday.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Lol when you said went shopping for “bedding” I thought you meant plants 😆 Its nice to have new sheets / quilt covers etc and it has come from commuting costs so effectively “free” in my book 😁0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Thank you Skinty. I'm trying so hard not to spend like this until I've got a good level of savings together. Kind of sets me back a bit overall as the commute costs are a nice bonus to my savings target for the year, while I'm not in the office.
The bedding does look really nice though 😊😊
Done the washing up, washing, hung it up, cleaned the bin and I'm sure there's something else I should have done 🤔
Anyhow, will water the garden later, might have toast for tea, followed by fruit and yoghurt.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Hey Babs
You have to spend some of it, sometimes, keeps up the morale for all those times you keep the savings going.... I haven't quite got the hang of it yet, still not geared up for 'proper' saving.... just think of me only starting out on the same path to savings..."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."
