    I agree SH.

Was up before 2.30 this morning, popped back to before for an hour when TomBo got up.

Checked my payslip, always do even though I'm on a fixed salary, and my new hours are partly paid which is a nice little bonus as they only start this week; I'll have my full new salary next payday.

I went to 2nd home just before lunch. Got some beet plants in, double dug part of a section TomBo cleared, put some canes in and sowed peas / carrots.
    - I'll try and double dig the remainder of that section this week so I'm able to sow more root veg and winter greens.

I've closed one bank account and moved the money to a RS, transferred money ready for a S/O to another RS.

TomBo did the housework and some cooking while I was out and while I had a nap.

We had courgette lasagna for tea, instead of pasta sheets it was sliced courgette. Very tasty and I've said he should make it again.

I once saw the chef bikers make lasagne with leeks instead of pasta but I like the sound of using courgettes instead. I might give that a go too 😋

    Thanks FP, Skinty and SH

Survived my first FT week, well with a bank hol 😄
    - I'm contemplating booking a couple of days off for the next few months, gives me more planting/ clearing time before the weather changes.

I've ended up being given 2 large courgettes from 2nd home mate, small marrow size rather than shop size! It will be interesting to see what TomBo does with them this time.

I have half a bucket of leeks to plant, but run out of time today. I was there by 7.30am, weeding, getting spreading weeds out of where strawberries are, sowing seeds, watering and general pottering about. I managed to roll a rock / boulder into the hole I think it was removed from, that's finished a path off between mine and a plot neighbour; did have it slip out my finger tips and land on my foot, but no damage noted.
    - a few days ago I slipped and trapped my foot again on the same communal path 🙈

I was home just after 3.30pm and saw my sunburn 😮 at least it doesn't matter having strap mark tan now 🤭 I'll end up with a good tan if I'm careful.

It was nice having the bit extra money this month (£60 ish) most of it was sent to my pamper account as I'd like to have a reserve should I feel like more of a pamper. The rest went to savings.

We're going to the city tomorrow, I'm being taken for lunch too, and coincidentally it will be our 1m anni 😮 that's gone quick!  We're seeing family in the evening and having tea.

We had pizza tonight and my feet are well and truly up while watching TV.

Nice to have free food. Sounds like the allotment is just what you needed - exercise, company, therapy, growing food... All good.

Hope you have something to cool the sunburn.

    Thanks SH

The plot provides things a lot of things and I've made some great friends; I'm the only one in our little group who hasn't retired. Didn't go down today, but will go tomorrow for a couple of hours instead.

I'm regularly applying aftersun and no longer have a t-shirt tan, still want to get a bit more colour on my legs.

We had a good time in the "city", it was really the area we originally used to live and has changed a lot.
    - Found a buy how little you want shop which also had the mex food we've been getting.
    - Popped to an Italian shop, got various pastas and a couple of cakes.
    - Went to another Italian shop, got more pasta, wild boar salami, a few other deli meats, cheese and other bits.
    - We were too early for lunch at an Italian restaurant so I had coffee, bacon and haggis roll, TomBo had coffee, eggs Benedict with avocado, from their breakfast menu.

TomBo finds going out too noisy and said we'll spend the monthly restaurant money buying nice food for him to cook. We spent about £100 in the first three shops and only need fruit, veg, milk and a bit of meat for for the rest of the "month".

I've moved some money to savings and paid a bit more off the CC.

I'm overtired and can't yet sleep.

I am with TomBo with buying nice food and cooking it at home instead  :)
