Pleased for you MF. I've tended to buy trees and fruit bushes bare rooted at the start of spring. You pay 3 x as much if you buy them with earth around them so beware of that.

@savingholmes OHs sister started growing me fruit bushes when I said I was buying and had a garden, I saw her a few days ago to make another emergency supplies drop off and got pointed to everything she has been doing, including flower pots full! Also there are donations in the allotment she has.

She was so pleased the purchase went through as she was too scared to ask.

Somehow, I need to pull my finger out and get the garden sorted out, but am also trying to rope her OH in to it, that way I could let both the guys get on with the hard work; one could do the garden area, the other the secret garden and maintain a safe distance 😉

OMG. You lot have put me to shame. I can't believe how much you have done and planned. Your gardens sound amazing. I count that as two gardens. It's so exciting. Im getting inspired again. It's wonderful but please do not wipe yourself out.

@savingwannabe I'm being careful, as I am struggling. I do class it as two gardens; the secret garden and the garden.

@savingholmes she is wonderful and thoughtful like that.

I'm 'back' to work tomorrow, so will be having my feet uoy.

Can't wait to move, unpack, settle in and start on the secret garden during the evenings and weekends as I want that secluded outside space to relax and enjoy the weather. It's made me realise how much I wanted outside space 😊

I'm sat here with a big grin on my face that things are going so well for you.
Mind you I shouldn't be sat here at all, I should be out in the garden trying to get something done

Managed to sort out holiday for the next few weeks and am only working 4 days to total, mix of PT and FT 🤗 hopefully that will give me enough time to unpack, arrange everything and enjoy my home and garden; still leaves me loads of holiday.

Still doing my surveys and have over £80 to spend. Going to keep building them up for a while then decide where to spend them before cashing in.

Working out a shopping list of garden equipment. Interior shopping list will be worked out as time goes on. I will also be scaling down my things (clothes etc) as I won't have the space for it all.

Getting a bit impatient as I want to be in my home and not here still (couldn't go over today because of working but have had some more things dropped over today so my home is fine). Soon, I will be posting from home and discussing my plans and what's been done between posts.

One thing I have forgotten to say is the lights in the communal areas appear to be the original ones and are beautiful.

Moved money to emergency fund pot and communal repairs pot. Quite a while until payday 🙈

    Roast chicken for tea tonight.

I've ordered some ratchet secateurs, which should be with me in about 10 days, thought I could carefully trim down thin tree branches / bushes etc and start to prepare the secret garden for use.

Will be buying a spade to hand over to my OH for the manly tasks. He is going to do turn the lawn area into the food growing area for me to potter around.

I want a little fork / trowel for tending to the herb garden and a stiff broom to sweep the patio part of it.

Decided I need to find pallets to make the compost bin. I will have loads to compost down so it's not viable to have a small premade one; need to keep costs down and this is the obvious area to make savings.

Not heard from the tree surgeon yet, will chase him in a few days and will also contact some others.

Loads of stuff has been deposited at my home the last few days, just need to throw the rest into bags / boxes. Removal guys are here tomorrow morning.

Hopefully by lunchtime I will be home, looking at everything and wondering where to start with unpacking and arranging everything!

I'm now on a very long weekend, which is good because I've so much to do and also my health couldn't cope with much more squashed on my lap working.

Priority tomorrow is setting up the lounge, setting the bed up in my bedroom and creating a desk space in bedroom two, then I can potter around unpacking / organising everything else.

Friday I'm buying some equipment for the garden then I can start pottering around it too.

Managed to squeeze in a few surveys last night and this evening. Decided to buy some crockery, cutlery and bedding as I've not had anything new, matching or nice for years.

Did the leaving CT notification today. Still need to register with the gas / electric but will be sorting that out tomorrow night. Then just have to do the few remaining companies who have my details, but need to call / live chat them.

Having last chippy night here, be rude not to when they have just reopened and I don't have to worry about making a meal out of just meat (everything else is in my home).
