Thanks SH and RLI do funny maths and take the long way of working things out. It was a joy to discover using ( ) on a calculator, instead of doing all my calculations and then adding them together 🙈
Just had a bacon and egg baguette and it's a big much for lunch!
Learning another new thing in a minute, I can't believe how much training I get to do my role; not complaining, I'm happy not to figure everything out for myself!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Lol my dad was an electrical engineer went to college & passed his electrician exams & he always tried to help me with maths homework but it never sank in 😆 I work in finance now but it’s basic maths, add, subtract, divide, multiply and a bit of percentages. No logarithms, square roots or complicated stuff 😂

Thanks Skinty
My maths knowledge is the same as yours, it's all us mortals require 😀
Got out a bit late and managed to find a parking space further away from home. TomBo will move the car to where I normally park later.
There's a Xmas market on a few doors away and I popped in, came home with loads; wild birds, cakes, cheeses, booze and other things. Spent about £60 but it was good to have local produce.
No pamper tonight, just feet up and TV.
I'm having chips and curry sauce, not sure what TomBo is having probably fish otherwise cat will be upset.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

At least I don't have to pluck them as the seller had that task!
I've suggested to TomBo we freeze them, take them up north and he can cook them Christmas day. We could all have a bit of both types.
We might be going to a couple of local Christmas markets this month
Can't relax yet until my car has been moved.
The weather isn't supposed to be that good this weekend and I might do a bit of DIY.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Well done on sorting out the maths and course training, the wild birds sound fascinating. I had pheasant once and that was enough for me! I hope you can enjoy the weekend. Hurrah for the weekend.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Thanks SW
I have to try these things otherwise how do I know I don't like them. Although, I have picked one of them up before and can't remember if I liked it or not; I'll make sure TomBo does more veg, just in case 🤭
Woke up thinking I've got ages before I have to get up, then remembered TomBo had got up earlier, thought it was early due to not much traffic but looked at my phone and saw the time. Panicked thinking I had 50 minutes to get up, read, sort food out and drive to work. Reading "Saturday" didn't quite register and I thought my phone was broken, had to quickly go over what I did yesterday and then it twigged it really was the weekend. I did get up.
I'm attempting to set the timer on the boiler, as I don't want to return from holiday to a stone cold flat. If this works it will come of for one hour, twice a day while we are away. I'll know in a bit if I've done it right.
- nope, think I've worked out why it never switched on.
TomBo has done the housework, cat has eaten loads and slept.
I had cheese crackers with homemade tomato chutney, the one I made last year. It's tastes rather nice and I've only got one other jar.
It's snowed today 😀

I've been trying to write this for a couple of days, but there will never be a good time to post it.
You've all gathered there will be an inheritance, I think it will be about 2 years income. I could be mortgage neutral or combine it with savings in a couple of years to be mortgage neutral. I've agonised over the right thing to do with it when it comes and it will earn interest while I make a final decision.
I've ruled out doing the flat up. Realistically, I know we should move in a couple of years as I'm mindful of my health. I've virtually revisited properties / areas I ruled out before based on distance to my previous job and set a budget of £80 - £125k, with the option of going upto £150k for a breathtaking property.
- lower priced, I could borrow a low amount like when buying the flat. Leaving plenty to make any bigger changes eg new shower room, kitchen, plus minor changes to future proof it, having a nice EF left.
- higher priced, I would need to borrow the maximum amount for my income. It would leave me enough to do minor changes eg swap bath for shower, fit patio doors and generally future-proof it.
I've reassessed what I want from the next property. I will comprise on views, would prefer an end property and don't want a garden smaller than what I have now; if it's double the size I can have an orchard establishing ready for when I'm retired or if my health declines.
Sibling on the other hand is back to unrealistic expectations for properties. I'd hoped they'd grown up a bit since mom died, but obviously not.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
I'm sorry your sibling in being unrealistic.
You will know the right thing when it comes but I think a bigger garden sounds like something that would be very loved.
I'm glad you are going to be able to manage budget wise until the end of the month and got a bit more than you thought.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. I am so pleased that you will inherit something it is good that you are putting thought into it and and thinking ahead. My house was expensive and since then i have spent 15 years paying it off (nearly done) and doing it up. No holidays abroad. They eat cash. Sibling will learn the hard way.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222
