Ooh - someone's mentioned sparkles! Sounds lovely.... weirdly I was thinking of a bit of slap for Xmas. Nothing major, eyeliner with grey sparkles in it, and lip stick, pink with yet more sparkles in, plus, Xmas jumper with sequins on it (sparkly dog Santa!), may even dig out sparkle socks hiding under boring trousers.... I think I got rid of the Xmas earrings (Xmas trees with flashing lights in them!) Ha! I think we all need a bit of a laugh and some fun this Xmas....
Loving the bargains you've found, and red dress for Xmas, couldn't be more Chrismassy."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Do it! You're going out for the day, why not dress up and dust the make up off. We all need that one day of being us and getting use out of what we have. Years ago I had Santa earrings, pull a bit of string and his arms / legs would go up like he was doing a star jump 😁
The dress is a bit of a timeless classic and will work for many years.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
My 'new area' has some good CSs I will no doubt become a regular at. Can't wait to get acquainted with them.

They holders are a set of four, white washed wood and hold thin table candles. I'm thinking about lightly sanding them, getting a tester pot of paint and doing a colour wash. I did contemplate buying them when I popped in last time.
I've decided to get some form of unit for where my desk currently is, if I'm ever back in the office.
I also need to buy a chair bed for the spare room. The last two nights I'm in bed for about an hour before waking up, having to get up to take meds and creating a place to rest in the lounge to try and nap before TomBo gets up. Fine on non-working days, not good on the others. My OTC meds are giving me up to 2 hours of lesser pain.
Cashed in more survey points and will do the remainder over the next 2 days.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Sounds like you had a great shop, such a shame its closing. Well done on the survey points it can be a bit boring but always nice when the rewards come in.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Sorry to read your body is not giving you the rest you need Babs, I hope you spend the day with feet up, Christmassy films, and of course, medicinal chocolate!
And yes, I am going to dress up as I have had no excuse for doing it for, well I can't even remember the last time I did. I am even debating giving the dog an outfit for her Christmas pressie, but, she gives me sour looks for putting her coat on in wet weather... she might get 'tinselled' though....."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Thank you LW2G and RenGot nearly £50 of survey points to still cash in!
- I need to do my supermarket ones later (£80 or £85).I popped out to the charity shop and came home with a bag full including church type candles, a necklace and some other bits (gone in the wash), spent £4 and asked them to round it up.
Tomorrow I will try for a final visit as they are still putting stock out. The money I'm spending is from Christmas present money, not income.
TomBo went out and got me the OTC meds, so I've enough to get through about a week. He also popped into the charity shop, got a beautiful small glass vase type ornament and a stainless steel butter dish; we have gone all posh 😁
We are just about to pop out to see SIL and Mini Me, then I can rest 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Some great achievement there on the surveys/supermarket points. I always used to save them for Xmas too.
Now I can see you relaxing with candlelight tonight, after your meds, & visit. Have a lovely catch up. So sweet of Tombo, he is pushing the butter dish boat out!"...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

Thanks RenDidn't end up cashing the supermarket points in, maybe next Christmas 🙈
Butter is almost frozen solid in autumn / winter up here and doesn't require a fridge. I've got fed up with mashing to soften it and a few seconds later it's back to solid form and my bread is ripped to bits. I treated myself to a dairy free, vegan tub of 'butter' and all is calm again when I make my sandwich 😂
Had a whispered debate with TomBo at 1.30am as I got up as I accidentally lit the whole room up with my phone. He offered to get up as he had a rediculous start time this morning, I won when I said I had to get meds 🤭
I will be wrapping presents today and taking it easy. Sadly, no last trip to the charity shop before it closes.
The lamb appears to have defrosted, that's getting covered in rosemary, ready for tomorrow when it's slowly roasted with homegrown veg; getting dug up by TomBo when he gets home.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
