Didn't get the furniture, I'm still working on him about that company 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Got my new sofa and arm chair today, picked the one from 1k3a as TomBo seemed happier with that one compared to the others I've been looking at.
Should be less imposing than the two 'leather' ones due to having space under it, narrow arms etc.
TomBo has quickly broken down the one sofa, just need him to put the new one together. Then he can break the other one down and put the chair together.
-- Old sofas have no life left in them to pass on to anyone.
I know it was indulgent, but I spend a lot of time inside, in the lounge and wanted it to look good, first brand new sofa in nearly 20 years.
My body is mangled, but if I take it easy the rest of this week I'm hoping to be fit for more painting.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -

You are really going for it, although fighting your body, but, it will be worth it to have it looking lovely for Christmas..."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."

They look good (3k3nas3t range). TomBo put the chair together and couldn't get the 2nd sofa out, it's currently being broken down inside; don't know how the removal guys got it in here originally!
Going to try and get another coat of paint on the unit later, even if I focus on the doors and do the actual units the weekend.
Mind is willing, body isn't 🤭
I think it would be nice to have the holidays as relaxing and enjoying my time away, rather than doing DIY, just to give me / my body a break.

Painted some of the unit on my lunch break, good job I did as it was dark before I finished work. Will see if I can do a bit more each day and hopefully I'll be doing the skirting the weekend, then next week I can focus on glossing the unit.
-- potentially I'm on schedule for finishing the woodwork before I break up.
The 'porch' got damaged when TomBo was trying to get the sofa out. Will sort that out when I do the once over.
Going to order the special paint, masking tape and wood filler payday.

Your shopping list sounds similar to mine, sounds like you're making good headway. Roll on payday!2

Aimed a lamp at the unit when I finished work and got another layer of base coat on it.
Just put the first base coat on one section of skirting.
-- Caught the wall with the paint and realised how not white the wall is, had to stop myself from doing that wall as I've nothing high enough to stand on to do it all 🤭
Getting the bulk tax relief back in my pay this month for working at home. I'm pleased I didn't claim it months ago as it's nicely timed coming back.
Also had the tax relief for the payments I've made into my SIPP. Picked what pots I want it to buy extra into and waiting for that to go through.
-- I think it's wise I keep to my current monthly payment in for next year and still focus on saving, unless I get a payrise; highly unlikely.
Set up a payment plan on the CC for the sofa / chair, but will get that cleared over the next few months, like I've done with all the other purchases I've put on before.
Getting a lot of very positive feedback at work and I'm still covering two roles. Health is holding up from that point of view, but I won't push myself as it's too much of a risk.
I've still got veg and salad growing in the garden, hopefully my carrots, parsnips and beetroots will hang on for another month as I really want them with the Christmas dinner 🤗
£3 in the bank, 2 days until payday.

Yay to tax back 🤗 Glad you managed to restrain yourself from starting to paint the walls too. Once you start one wall ..... 😆
