I posted here back in May and got some fantastic advice and starting tackling the debt. I visited here obsessively every day and then found that I was just spending too much time on here and home/work life was suffering too much. I also spent nearly every few minutes thinking about money so I took a step away. BUT, without the board I struggle to keep the motivation to chip at the debts and know I need to come back
I know my up to date SOA is immovable so it's pointless me posting that again, the thing I need to stop doing is spending any extra we get and throw it at the debts instead. I have updated my signature so that it is more realistic, my previous signature didn't include the two loans with Northern Rock. I didn't put them in previously as they just seem to be "there" but they are now in my snowball calculator and it is actually better seeing how much I am paying towards debt every month.
My DFD is currently October 2012 however DH gets bonuses, I am back on the ebaying wagon and spending diary is fully in force. We both have good jobs and DH has a good prospect of pay rises/bonuses over the next few years and so I know we can reduce that date, as well as that we only have to pay full time nursery fees for another 12 months.
I have definately learnt lessons since May, everything goes through quidco and since May I have budgeted for the bigger things and been able to afford a £450 car bill ( ), 12 months tax, car insurance, house insurance and pet insurance in full payments, without having to adopt the direct debit scheme or turn to credit cards so pretty pleased with that.
The last few months have been difficult with various things breaking down and xmas coming up, and the urge to spend seems to have returned so here I am back for a kick and some support.
So whilst my new signature is depressing it is also the real deal - I am currently paying £910 a month towards the debts *jeez* and £600 is towards CCs which (I am pleased to say) are 0%.
So although I will try not to become obsessive about the website anymore, I do need to be here but I also need to be honest about the extent of it all and that includes the loan figures.
So big *gulp* and here I go.......................

Hi BA, welcome back! I think you're being a bit hard on yourself, it sounds as though you have continued to make progress despite having a tricky time financially. But if it's support you are wanting, you are in the right place! And kicks up the backside will only be doled out if you have been REALLY bad....lol!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Thank you Snaggles
I think I "need" to see that whopper figure in the signature and as it goes down by almost £1k a month it might give me a bit of inspiration. Imagine what I could be spending that money on though :rolleyes:0 -
Hi and welcome back
Know what you mean about spending too much time on here. Took a break myself but returned as i missed it and the people on here. It does help to keep you motivated and i generally visit at least once a day (he says sitting at work :rotfl: )

i also feel that i've become a bit obsessed with this site but i know if i don't come here i'll end up gaining more debt again. I've done it before. i'm hoping if i do the obsessive thing until at least after christmas then i will be able to keep control. What i am trying to do is budget my time on here, yet another budget lol just need them all to work.0

I had so many "budgets" saved on my computer that I was budgeted out. I just liked to look at them (daily!). I am now going to stick with the snowball calculator and my own spreadsheet.
Maybe being obsessive is good after all though, if it keeps me on track!0 -
Hello and welcome back,
Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time on here, but the bottom line is I need my daily dose of mse to keep me in line and motivated:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0
