I was born in 1953 and my name was very common in that era, although rarely heard these days. Never had a problem with it but I always joke that my spelling is the “posh” version!0

Martha? Esther?
Don’t feel you need to answer I just can’t resist a guess!
My name is really boring, there were about 12 of us in my year at school. It’s fine though, not ugly or with any negative connotations, I am ambivalent about it.
I have a friend who has three girls called Martha, Ruth and Esther, love Martha not so sure on the others.
Mine is Samantha, very 70s but I do love it, most call me Sammy, if I could choose I would be Maggie"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

I know a Myra, and she’s absolutely lovely, so the name just makes me think of her now.0 -

Snap! Though I think of it as a 60's name. Popularised by 'Bewitched':

I was actually christened before 'Bewitched' came out (though not by very much) so I like to think my mother started the trend .0 -
I’ve always fancied being something flamboyant and sexy like Lola or Fifi :-)0

Mine’s foreign, and a bit uncommon & I have grown into it. I have Jane if it all gets too much being Dig, but I like being Dig.
No reflection on Jane, (of whom I know several & interesting!) just not the name I know myself by.0 -
I hate my first name, My dad fully admits I was named after a London railway station. I always use a shortened version of my name (except for official purposes) only my dad and brother use the full version of my name.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

Honestly no
I feel i'll grow into it though (i currently go by the nickname version)....she says at the age of 33 :rotfl: Though it does go nicely with the OH's surname so once we are hitched i might go back to it
It sounds a bit....formal and tbh nobody calls me it (unless i'm in trouble )0 -

Oh no another guessing game!
I’m hoping it’s more like Victoria than King’s Cross for your sake!0 -
As a name I don't particularly like my first name but, even though I'm female, I was named after my grandfather so the name holds meaning. I hate it being shortened though, that was what people called my grandfather.0
