@I-LOV-MONEY
Well Bulb do offer £50 referral so bear that in mind. You will not be short of referral codes from the linked to referral board for Bulb.
And Bulb say they have 1 million customers so they are not too small but they did have to raise additional capital recently.
OutFox the Market have lots of bad feedback on this forum and have messed customers about a lot. Hard to find anyone who has a good word for them.
The other 2 I cannot help with.0 -
Thanks again for your response gsminx. If I go for Bulb, how do I get the £50 referal ?Thank you for reading this message.0

Plenty of spam at the bottom of any recent MSE news article on energy enticing you with such backhanders :cool:0 -

Once you find a person who's link you wish to use then it is as easy as using the link they provide
From Bulb's web siteI've been referred by a friend. How will I get my credit?
As long as you signed up through your friend’s referral link, we’ll put the £50 credit in your account once your switch is complete.
If you have a prepayment meter, the credit will be sent through Transferwise once we receive notification of your first electricity top up (this can take 1-3 working days).
If you’ve forgotten to use your friend’s referral link or signed up through a Price Comparison Website, then we can’t give you the £50 credit.
You can refer as many friends as you like and track your reward in your Bulb Account.0 -
I am now toying between Bulb and Yorkshire Energy. I am wary of variable charging, as obviously prices can suddenly increase (how often do they go down?) and although there isn't an exit fee, I am back to square one again if prices do increase. I think I prefer the 'safety' of a fixed tarrif.
Even with the £50 offered by posters there isn't a lot of difference. The only other thing is Yorkshire are relatively new and don't have many reviews, but what they do have mainly seem to be good. Their unit rates are a little higher than at present, but their standing charge is considerably cheaper. What does "Standing Charges are charged per MPAN/MPRN (If you have 2 MPANS or MPRNS you will be charged for each of these separately." mean?Thank you for reading this message.0 -

MPRN = Meter Point Reference Number - for gas
This is how the energy company know the address of a meter and who supplies the energy. It is unique to the meter.
So the normal situation is for a gas meter to have 1 MPRN and the electricity meter to have 1 MPAN. Hence if you have both gas and electricity, you pay 2 standing charges, 1 per meter. Or if just electricity then normal 1 set of standing charges.
Now some electricity meter setups may have 2 MPANs. These tend to be on special tariffs such as E10 and the consumer has 2 electricity meters. If you have this type of setup, then it is common to pay 2 sets of daily standing charges. Again 1 per meter.
HOWEVER if you do have this type of setup then switching would probably fail as these tariff/meter setups aren't normally available to switch companies. There are tied into a deal with 1 of the old electricity board suppliers (or who replaced them after privatisation)0 -
Cheers. Initials are great if everybody knows what they mean!
I am all electric and have an Economy 7 meter, so I presume I would only be charged for one.Thank you for reading this message.0 -
I would presume one set only too
(I used to have E7 and it was just 1 standing charge, to match the 1 meter in the cupboard).
If you are currently just paying 1 set of charges, I cannot see why that would change.0 -
It seems that the post that I quoted is spam. I have now removed the details.Thank you for reading this message.0

Yes, indeed.
As requested by MSE, I've already marked their post (and all their others) as Spam.
And as to putting their mobile number on a public forum, well.....0
