How soon before my fix ends can I switch?
I am with BG on the fix Feb 2017 which ends 28/2. I know I have a £60 exit fee if I move too soon.
What ever happens looks like I will be paying more than I was

Am I correct in thinking that there is not a collective fix available at the moment?
How often do they come out?
I'm on the BG collective fix at the mo, but it ends 28 Feb, but it's still showing as the cheapest deal for me0 -

Not sure what you mean by "it". Do you mean other BG tariffs or just your current deal?
Your switching window will open soon so now would be a good time to hit the comparison sites in preparation.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

'It' is my current deal, the collective fix to 28/02.
Had a quick look on the comparison sites and it looks like I will have to pay more0 -

Stay on your current tariff for as long as you can.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Also on the BG Collective Fix ending in Feb next month... Had a look around the cheapest deal I can find is with this new Iresa. Thoughts anyone?
EDIT: Had a quick Google and reviews show support is naff, switching takes far too long, over billing... Hmm maybe not Iresa then!0 -

Maybe support is naff because they don't have the staff? Over billing creates funds to pay suppliers?
I would be very wary of a company opened and operated with one share, by the director of a company which was dissolved via compulsory strike-off 2011, who registered a new company (Iresa,) in 2012, where the company reported negative net assets of (£89,167) in December 2015, whose director changed their nationality in September 2015. It is an unusual name with the same date of birth, so what are the chances of this being coincidence?
It will be interesting to see December 2016 accounts, which aren't due until October 2017, (if they last that long.) With an influx of customers from various collectives which are ending, they will have a "cash boost" but how long can they sustain these cheap tariffs, which are unsustainable in the long run?
Just my own personal thoughts and hopefully nothing slanderous. I haven't provided any links, so do your own research and make your own choice when deciding what is important to you personally, when choosing energy suppliers.Fred - Where's your get up and go?

The problem with the energy shop link posted ( and linked in your reply) previously is that we don't know, but could guess, how much is slanted negatively by sour grapes.
If I were a comparison site like energyshop and in the market of providing whole of market ( not!) price comparisons and someone started up cheaper that wasn't prepared to be listed and therefore I would not earn commission from, I would rubbish them as energyshop have done.
They absolutely, categorically and definitively do not want any of their visitors going to an Iresa type business. And therefore using anything they have to say on their site becomes dangerous. It's almost propaganda! Remember, as consumers we are protected. This is a regulated market.
How would anyone break into what is a highly regulated world in those circumstances.
I have started the Iresa switch, will I keep an eye on any credit balance? Yes I will! I hope they survive because the way we are treated by the likes of E.on mean this market needs good new entrants.
Good luck making your own decisions.0 -

Switching doesn't take too long. My electricity and gas transferred within 30 days from application which is well within the Supply Licence requirement of 35 days. Yes, online account set up has been a little slow,
If Iresa goes under then I might be in for a bit more hassle but any credit is now protected, and my supply of electricity and gas is assured. I am not sure what there is to worry about. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Regardless of how sour any grapes may be:This is a regulated market.
Questionable? see below:How would anyone break into what is a highly regulated world in those circumstances.
Via an agent? Anyone can set up a limited company within 24 hours. It's proving too easy, as we have seen?Good luck making your own decisions.
A company with negative equity with no forward purchasing power, offering tariffs at a fraction of the price they are paying for crude oil?
Without seeing their accounts, it's impossible to know their financial position at this moment. The telling time will come when their accounts for December 2016 are finally released in October 2017, (if not before.)
Maybe there is a new "catchment" of consumers, due to the business practices of the more established energy suppliers edging people toward these companies. However, these suppliers have been in business substantially longer.
Only time will tell.Fred - Where's your get up and go?
Barney - It just got up and went.
