Just as matter of interest was the saving of £21 a month calculated on your present contract or the remainder of the contract plus what you would pay if then go to their standard rates for the remaining months totalling 12 months.

    Remaining contract for us.
I also intend to submit meter readings on the 1st of every month.

So, back to boobbby's post - do you mean that's calculated on 'your present contract' or 'the remainder of the contract plus what you would pay if then go to their standard rates for the remaining months totalling 12 months'?

If you mean the latter, then the estimate of savings, if any, will probably be wildly exaggerated.

£30 csshback received from energy saving club and promptly overpaid to the mortgage! That's 4 days interest for the month taken care of!

Now waiting on the email to say rhetes a better deal for switching and hopefully another £30!!!!

The latter is exactly what I meant so estimates will get even higher as you near the end of a present fixed contract and would only be valid if you continued to stay on the standard rate.

Am I correct in thinking that Cheap Energy Club still pays cashback if you switch back to a provider that you've previously used? (obviously not your current provider)

Yes. However, check the ts and cs of the supplier. For example, Ovo now charges £30 per fuel if a customer leaves and returns within 3 months. This detail is not shown on comparison sites.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check that out.

  • I think there's a new collective switch starting tomorrow so it might be worth waiting to see if that's any better than what you've been quoted today?
