Take a look at their Jan 2016 tariff launched a few days ago.
For the figures typically defined as average consumption, it's in the cheapest 5 deals and within £3 to £5 a year of the best.
Isn't there a requirement for energy companies to inform customers of the cheapest tariff? I've not had any notification of either of the two previous tariff reductions that have applied to me.

There should be a section of your SP bill (usually at bottom of first page) that tells you of any cheaper options available from them based on your own annual usage.
If the alternative tariff only launched a few days ago, that probably explains why you have not yet been told of that particular tariff. (if it is actually cheaper for your own annual usage)0 -

Whilst on the phone I asked the rep what their policy was on this matter. She said that for fixed tariffs they only notify customers shortly before the end of the tariff period. If the alternative tariff only launched a few days ago, that probably explains why you have not yet been told of that particular tariff. Hi both
Just thought I'd confirm what stevenpc has said. We don't charge an exit fee for switching from one E.ON tariff to another. These fees apply when changing supplier and then only on certain tariffs.
As steven says, on our current tariffs, the fees are £5 per fuel.
Details of any fees are on the letters we send confirming the tariff switch. They're listed on the website, too, so customers can see them before confirming the switch.
Hope this is of interest.

My npower online fix ended on Sunday and from 1st December I was put on their standard rate. Having used the Cheap Energy Club last year to switch to npower in the first place I was wondering if I could qualify for another £30 cashback if I use them again to change from Npower's standard to their online January 2016 tariff? I won't be changing companies but technically it should still count as a switch? or is the only way to change tariffs within the same company via the non online route i.e. calling them?0
