Sorry to dig up an old thread.

My first fix has been done, waiting on second fix as I’m getting other things done in the house at the moment.

What I want to know is, what happens to the old wiring under the floorboards? Are they meant to be taken out?

The old wiring can be left in place if it is no longer connected to anything - I still have very old rubber coated wires under my floorboards. That said, there is some value in the scrap metal, so if the cables can be removed without too much disruption, you can get a few pounds back from a scrap merchant.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
