 And that's helpful exactly how?????
You nasty individual. Have you ever heard of empathy? Of having a little sympathy for others not as fortunate as yourself? It must be lovely living in your world where everything is perfect and you carry on throughout your life without giving a care about anyone else........ I know which life I'd rather be living and it's not yours.
As I just said above, what goes around comes around - you would do well to remember that. You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Why i'm not miserable now so why would I be miserable in the future.
If miserable isn't the right word maybe bitter is.

You're right about nagging the "powers that be" - there was a time when I was ringing my housing officer so often that he started sounding like he was crying as soon as he heard my voice. I think he sorted out my housing just so he could get through the day without my dulcet tones haunting him. :rotfl:
Every time I ring my housing officer she's out in the field. Though I did learn today she is in on Thursdays. Do you think it would be a good idea to ring her every Thursday then? What should I say?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

You missed a bit out. I put the missing text in a different colour to make it easier for you to see the mistakes (that's me, ever helpful). You should have put:Broken_hearted wrote: »Me too but I'm sat in a nice warm central heated three bed house so it's twice as funny.
Me too. But I'm sat in a nice warm central heated three bed house lost without good friends & without the chance to go out & enjoy myself among people who love me, & I'm really dependent on the internet for company. I'm so fed up with people who go BR, but I'm very quick to give my opinion even when it's not asked for, so it's not surprising how my life has turned out. I've been told about my thoughtless & sometimes nasty posts at least twice. No-one finds me as funny , interesting & right as I think I am - I hope I work out why soon & change my ways, otherwise even fewer people will bother with me.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Thanks for that BH  I too could be sat in my huge victorian, 4 bed, 3 floor, semi detached. If only that thug hadn't disabled me, which meant the business went belly up, which led to this.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time, I wish I had some advice or words of comfort to offer you. I find it totally disgusting that you and your family have to live in these sort of conditions, it's just awful and it makes me so angry for you.
Surely the whole point of so-called "social housing" is to help those living in unsuitable conditions? If 5 of you in a 2 bed flat isn't "unsuitable" then I don't know what is? Unfortunately though, it doesn't really surprise me at ALL. We are currently on the 'register' for a house from the council/HA - the system is a bit different here, you bid on (express your interest in) houses on the homefinder website. At the moment there are the grand total of 5 houses we're eligable for, 3 you wouldn't put a dog in and the other 2...... well, at the last check there were almost 300 people in a higher priority than us for those 2 houses.
I wish I could help, I really do - you've always been so kind and helpful to me and a great support on my threads. I hope what goes around comes around and something comes up for you and your family soon

Thank you so much Scarlett. Sorry to hear about your situation. I had thought that sort of system might be better here but after hearing that it probably isn't.

If you have access to a fax machine, I would put your circumstances down in bullet points in a letter & detail any housing-related conversations you've had with her, & include your home/mobile number for them to contact you. Say that you would like a home visit asap to discuss your circumstances - that way they can actually see for themselves how you're living. Either fax the letter or take it to the housing office on a Tuesday (my council scans all letters, so the staff don't actually see them for at least a day) - address it to her and to her manager, so that if one is away the other will see it. Then ring up & leave messages for them both to let them know you've sent the fax or left the letter at the office, & ask for a call back once they've read it. If you've got a colour printer & a digital camera, take pictures of any areas affected by damp or mould, & print them off - give them to the housing officer to take with her for your file, & ask to have your case re-assessed.tigerfeet2006 wrote: »Every time I ring my housing officer she's out in the field. I have good real friends the ones who stick around when the going gets tough and a large family. My life as you put it turned out this way because I love my DH enough not to walk out because he's disabled instead staying to help and love him.I never claimed to be funny or interesting, infact I never even claimed to be right.wherediditallgo wrote: »You missed a bit out.
