    I give up!
This all sounds a bit girly to me, not what I'd expect from the same hard nosed tomboy that went camping in the wilds of Wales :D. You can't give up now, we all want you to have Thunderbird or OE!!!

Oh all right then! I suppose if you live without it, there's no point. I find it handy because I have more than one email address and it lets me look at all of them without having to go to each website, but I can't really think of any other good reason.
    Torgwen.......... :) ...........

    I'll live without it.............for now ;)
Just run, run and keep on running!

Just a couple of points that might be relevant.
    1. BTBroadband does not need a password.
    2. If you are with BTBroadband and trying to send email via Freeserve/Wanado, you can only do that by connecting to Wanado as you used to and not via your broadband connection. You can still recieve mail from Freeserve via broadband but not send.

Note though, as I've already said, that this only applies if you insist upon using your current Internet Service Provider's own SMTP server. In other words, you'll only encounter problems such as this if you use Outlook Express, Thunderbird or something similar. Webmail is entirely unaffected.

Oh, and by the way; to set which mail client you use to send/receive messages, just pop into Tools -> Internet Options from within Internet Explorer, switch to the Programs tab and select your preferred client from the drop-down menu labelled E-mail.

Jay-Jay ... you may be with freeserve but your e-mail account in Outlook Express has to be Wanadoo ... when you put the Pop and Smtp addresses in when setting up the account you must enter wanadoo :-

    pop.wanadoo.co.uk
    smtp.wanadoo.co.uk

my freeserve still works with *.freeserve.co.uk wish it wouldn't though, SPAM central
