Thanks @KeithP - 14 days before the hearing gives me until the 14th August. I'll get on with it now.

Double check that is definitely your deadline - no assumptions here. COVID has meant that a lot of changes are being made.

I've just checked with the court - I have until 14 days before the hearing which is still listed as the 28th.

Remember it must get there by 14 days before, and to the court and claimant
Fingers crossed you can do this by email to the cour t- have you checked? It will save you hand delivering.

Yes, I plan to email to the claimant before the 14 days but will hand deliver to the court as it's only about a mile from my house.

An update. The claimant had until yesterday to pay the court fee and I've just learned after an email to the court that they paid this the day before. So it looks like we're set for a hearing, which is due to take place on the 28th August.

I'll now start working on my witness statement.
Given your defence, it's amazing they paid ? what a waste of money ..... the chances are so high that they will lose.  I often wonder with BWLegal, if they have different departments where the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing.
Even though they paid, it does not mean they will continue.   Expect a week before, some phone calls or a letter offering a deal, the latest wheeze is all about Covid and the favours they can do.

DO NOT BE TEMPTED simply because you will be asking the Judge about the fake £60 which courts are saying is Abuse of Process.
Highly possible that a few days prior to court, they will discontinue because they will know the outcome will be bad for them

Thanks @beamerguy, don't worry - there's no way I'm paying any sort of deal.

It will come as no surprise at all that I've already received at least 3 letters since we were given a court date offering deals. The two latest ones indeed mention Covid-19 and offer a 40% 'discount'.
