Cheapest DVD Players...prices now sub £10!

I rang Argos on their 'normal' number 01908 690333 - (I may be a newbie but you won't catch me dialing an 0870 number if I can avoid it). The gentleman there was very polite - but - said if they had the codes (which he doubted) and gave them out, they would be breaking the law. Interesting that other retailers take a different view. So I returned mine and got a Matsui from Currys where they give the 'hack' on their site. Having returned home and set it up I can confirm that the hack works and am now able to play region 1 and 2 (all that I have). Be warned though, it is a top loader, so you need access above the player to use it.

HI, AM NEW TO THE FORUM, BOUGHT THE 9.99 DVD PLAYER FROM ARGOS YESTERDAY (DVD287) AND IT PLAYED MY REGION 1 DVD'S AND MY DVD-R AND DVD+R STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. I DONT THINK IT NEEDS A HACK CODE

If I were you I'd return the MIkomis to Argos and get the Matsui from Currys (though they are 'top-loaders' so you need acess above to use.)

If you're still in date with the Argos return period and you have room to access the top of a top-loader dvd player, I'd take the Mikomi back and get the £9.99 Matsui from Currys.

1-Power up and open tray
2-Press setup
3-Press , next,next,next and next (on remote looks like >>I ) thats 4 times
Current region setting will say 2 .
4-Now press the > button which is to the right of the centre button until it says 255 (the code for region free)
5-Press setup

That worked for me.

can anyone tell me how to get my small camcorder dvds to play. What type of player do I need? I have an LG region 2 dvd player at the moment and it doesnt they dont play.
hope someone can help.
Asda Pipps Hill Basildon have loads of the cheap DVD players in stock.
