Yo Yo Woman is back this week with a one pound gain!

I have only myself to blame as my heart isn’t in it but I have paid for a countdown so I continue going.

I haven’t mentioned it on here before but my elderly Mum has dementia and I visit her every other day and we both get upset at her decline, agitation and confusion. I come home exhausted and just slob about feeling low. On very bad days I buy a bar of chocolate! I also cannot motivate myself to get out for a walk which is something I used to do often.

I do cook SW homemade, healthy meals every day but I am finding it a real struggle.

Aww hun, I feel for you. Where are you based?

I am struggling at the moment too - rejoined nearly 12 months ago and have just started going to a new group that's just started, but in that 12 months I've lost nothing! In fact I think I weigh slightly more than when I started! Am starting to think I am just wasting my £4.95 a week.

This new group is a brand new consultant and she only has a handful of members as it's a Tuesday night, whereas the group I have just left there's loads of members as it's Saturday morning. But I just felt that consultant was getting far too big headed and the image therapy sessions just ended up being all about her.

As I said I'm struggling, my fridge is broke again, I only had it fixed on the 18th November (the freezer is working but the Fridge isn't cold). I can't keep anything in the freezer, so my Mom is looking after frozen stuff for me and am having use a mini fridge to keep minimal "food" in it. So I end up picking up crap to eat. The Fridge/Freezer is only about 16 months old, but hubby says it may end up us having to buy a new one! Don't want to be doing without a Fridge/Freezer over Christmas! Hotpoint engineer is coming on Wednesday.

    Rant over, lol! xx

    You sound like me :)

My mum hasn't got dementia - just a frail and forgetful 92 year old who had to go into care a few months back. I've been visiting almost every day and it's very wearing both physically and mentally, last couple of weeks I've given myself a 'couple of days off' to de-stress, but my heart hasn't really been in healthy eating either ... :(

"Keep going" is my encouragement ... since September 1st I've only lost about 2lb

Sorry to hear that many of you are struggling. It wasn't until I joined SW and heard people's stories that I realised just how linked weight can be to stress and emotional eating. Personally I'd never needed to lose weight before and just needed a plan to sort it.

On the positive side, you're going to group and you've posted on here. That means you still want to do something about it and you haven't given up. Hang on in there.:)

At last today I've prepped the braised red cabbage so it's all ready to go when the dinner comes out of the oven.

I went to Lidl today and the good news is that the large jars of cornichons are back. :j I also bought the rest of my personal Christmas chocolates. So I've got the cherry liqueurs (in stock in Aldi on Friday), a bar of chocolate marzipan and chocolate coated stem ginger. I'll ration those across the holiday. :)

A few extra syns today as I had to finish the full fat cottage cheese. FF is back in stock now. :)

    Today's EE plan :
B : NAS Ribena (F), ham, scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks
L: JP (F), ham, cottage cheese (P), beetroot, pickled cabbage, spring onions (S)
D: JO roast pork (P), SW roast potatoes (F}, swede & carrot mash, cabbage, kale, broccoli, cauli, carrots (S)
Syns : HP sauce 1, cottage cheese 2, HM gravy 4, weekend wine. :D

I'm eating out again on Tuesday but hopefully most of the week will be on plan.

  • That looks delicious Bubbs!!

Had a great last couple of days-loads of speed to make up for last week-and am not hankering after sweets and chocolates (my weaknesses) as much as I feared I would. Bought a Freddo and thoroughly enjoyed eating it, more than any sweets in a very long time.

Tried making SW chips today which went down a treat and had a lovely beef casserole yesterday where the only syns were two tins of Heinz soup (one oxtail, one lentil) so the syns per portion were 2.25 and packed full of speed veg.

Feeling very positive and hoping that continues into the rest of the week.

Well done, stick to plan and you WILL see a loss, how much do you want to lose?
Although it don't matter if its 1 st or 10 st, taking one day at a time you will get there :D I never thought i would lose over 5 st!

  • Altogether about 9 stone. Lost weight several years ago and kept it off for ages, but when my dad died very suddenly in 2012 I ate my feelings and put on weight and have never been able to stick with anything long enough to lose the weight. Am feeling really determined this time though, and taking it one day at a time. The support on here is brilliant as well and am trying to get involved in the Facebook group that the consultant runs.

You have the right idea, one day at a time, once that day is over concentrate on the next day and so forth, you will do it if you are determined , there are lots of other good face book if you want will pm you some links ?
