Glad to hear that your son has been awarded the DLA, as you say it should take some of the pressure off.

It was awarded until May 2021 -high rate care and low rate mobility.

    Good result then.
As you know the back money will be backdated to date of claim :)

Morning all, what a horrible day, the weather is awful. Looks like it's bad all over the country too.

WI for me today and having had a sneaky peek it looks I might just get away with a STS which I'll be happy with.

Today's plan (which is going to be very high syn as picked up aromatic duck in M&S the other day so decided Thursday was the best day to use it!):

B - overnight oats - oats HEB; natural greek yoghurt P; frozen cherries & mixed fruit S - will eat after WI
    L - HM hash browns F; eggs P; mushrooms, tomatoes S
    D - M&S aromatic duck; pancakes; 29 Syns; cucumber, spring onions S

    HEA - milk in teas
    HEB - oats
    Syns - aromatic duck 29

Back later to let you know how WI went!

  • I needed to avoid temptation this week, consequently, I have written all of my Christmas cards and wrapped a load of presents :o:jHope WI reflects this stress!

Wow! you're super organised gtq. :xmassmile

I had my first thoughts about Christmas yesterday and picked up a very few bits while I was out but that's as far as I've got.

29 syns denise! That's unbelievable. I always thought the shredded duck was quite low syn as the skin is removed but it can't all be in the pancakes. Hope you were happy with WI. :)

My back is playing up today so I didn't feel like going to WI. I'll go tomorrow as long as I'm OK. The medication makes me sleepy so it wouldn't be safe to drive.

I have a plan and it'll definitely be something with sausages this evening. I might do mash or perhaps boulangere potatoes as a change.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit,, baked beans (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, fried egg (P)
L: veg and lentil soup (S,P)
D: sausages, potatoes (F), carrots, onions, kale (S)
Syns: Aldi skinny sausages 1 syn

Back from WI. The syn free hash browns are in the oven cooking so thought I'd take the opportunity to post my result!

It was a gain of 0.5lb, which I'm pretty surprised by as it ought to have been more. My scales seem to have been out a bit lately so I'll have to add an extra 1/2lb to the reading on them in future - at the moment I add on 1/2lb but looks like I need to add a lb to the figure.

At least it's a new week so syn bank of 105 (+ an extra 20 if I want to use them but very rarely do!)

Just 2 more WIs before my holiday so if I can lose 0.5lb each week I'll be bang on bottom end of target so will give me 6lb to play with:D.

TMD great news about your loss and the backdated award. Hope son is feeling better now too.

Denise I'm sure you'll lose that 0.5lb in a couple of weeks, and a nice cushion of 6lb in readiness for your hols. Regarding non-white-stuff bacon, do you fry, or grill? I find that makes a difference with bacon, however have been buying Aldi's large packs of bacon and finding them both good value, and lacking in the white stuff. Failing that, I did go to a local butcher for their bacon, which they cut to the thickness you want, and their's was good too. I just don't get round to the butcher very often.
I did have SW chips with the steak, and very yummy they were too.

I'm feeling much better today, and yesterday I was okay and feeling more like myself IYSWIM. I'm away this w/end in L'pool, so want to be fine for that.

    Yesterday's plan:
    B - banana & fruit quark (1)
L - salad (leaves, tomato, cucumber, carrot) & chicken thighs; dressing (2); Mango & strawberries
    snack - hifi bars x 2 HEB
    D - lean steak casserole with carrots/onions/leeks & mash
snack - 2 rich tea light biccies for supper (4?)

    Today's plan:
    B - banana
L - LO beef casserole with LO mash; peach
    snack - melon/mango/strawberries
D - sweet & sour chicken (3 for sauce) with wholegrain rice & noodles (if I have some - not sure?)
HEA - milk in tea/coffee. HEB none planned at the moment.
I also have a fruit quark I might have this PM if I fancy another snack

I hope you're staying drier than we are in Lincolnshire today, although thankfully we're not flooded in my area (apart from some localised roads). We do live in a flood risk area though, with an emergency route sign posted through my town to get to higher ground!!
