    #20 Checking in

Budgets: All stuck to apart from one massive thing which *should* be covered by hubby's big expenses claim so hopefully we're all square.

15 NSD : 11/15 - today is an NSD, last few days HAVE NOT been no-spend but worth it! I don't think I'll spend anything tomorrow or Saturday so I think I'll make 13/15.

Meals: All sent with packed lunches as per normal.

Remove 60 items: I think we're up to 30 - not as many as I would have liked but I think I've done well and put so much rubbish out alongside those 30 :D

    2 Outings: Both done

Fresh air: Not been good at this but getting plenty of exercise sorting the house.

Charity: Given to Children in Need, Poppy appeal and will be sending a donation in to DS's school tomorrow for non-uniform day for them to use at the Christmas fair.

Three things: So much to be grateful for but mainly grateful for my Hubby and his surprise of buying a Puppy!! :j:j We will be collecting him on Tuesday next week. Also grateful for money off/vouchers and deals that I've managed to collect up and use to help us to prep for pup, and the things I put in the loft ready for us getting a pup in future.....glad of my hoarder tendencies! :D

start 1 or 2 new habits this month:Tried my best to stick to my habits. Last couple of days ahve been manic but now we are a little bit more settled and I feel very blessed.

dolly I want to try making this curry sounds lush. I usually do butternut squash and spinach lasagne a lot

Aimmeemum Aww what fun you will have. What breed is it? My daughter got me looking at Border Collie 3 week old pups last weekend 8 of them, will wait till their eyes are open before making a decision.

Spendy day today, need food bits, grandkids staying over at weekend.

Off work tomorrow and Monday, house will be turned into Santas grotto and hopefully some de cluttering and a nice walks will take place. Hopefully dry and crisp weather.:D

My car seats are all wet this morning, guessing condensation from air con? Roof inside feels dry bit puzzled. Perhaps I need to sit in it when raining:rotfl:

Moaning bit, cough hasn't gone it just keeps giving.:( One boss in weird mood today, hiding in my office:(

  • Thanks, Dolly - I don't like to go away and leave her but there really isn't anything I can do. My nephew says not to worry. He feels happier now that she's back where she can be looked after properly.

NSD No 20. That'll be my last one for this month as I have some last minute things to get tomorrow

Packing done. Relatively organised but feeling a bit stressed. That will be remedied when I meet my friends who are arriving on Monday. Her remedy for everything is "Have a gin" and I might just do that.

Dinner ready to go into the oven and then I think bed and a book.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

apple - DH has been watching WSM, I had to yell at him to turn it off yesterday, it is terrifying. There was a guy chucking beer kegs backwards into the air over a banner and I was totally stressed that he would be killed - it is like the land that H&S forgot.

Maybe that's why I enjoy it so much!

Managed a NSD today, shopping was delivered but money officially came out of my account last night so I'm not counting it as a today spend! Had a good long sleep which was definitely needed, went to work late today and left early as they owe me time and I've had enough of the place this week. Our head of service retires tomorrow so we're doing a leaving lunch and then having a few drinks at a local pub, so I'll get the train to work and buy a couple of drinks. Should still be a cheap one, I don't like spending that much time with work people so I'll make an early exit!
  • Misstara - are you still ok to run december?

Wednesday was spendy as I went to buy drinks and yoghurt and other things that would slip down my throat. I was ready to go to sleep at 7pm but spent some time reclaiming my bed (I now have two thirds of it after spending the last week on the edge and my machine sits in splendour on it's tray now that any inadvertent movement doesn't get it turned on by a book or purse or whatever else slides into it). Also transferred keys money, hankie, etc into my good bag ready for the morning (dress and coat hung up, located my hat, both black boots and a pair of black gloves).

Slept well and long. Gratitudes are for the feeling of being cosy and clean, sleeping peacefully because everything was ready so I could dash from the house if necessary and time to get ready at leisure (have spent all week avoiding wearing the dress and didn't want to put it on until I was about to leave the house, in case I spilt something on it).

Funeral went well, we were early but the taxi driver told us there was a little waiting room (we're usually standing to the other side of the main doors near the toilets). I checked that ours was the first funeral and asked if we could sit inside at the back then turned mum's walker round so we could get out at the end.

A pleasant personal service and the deceased's daughter came for a hug and to thank us at the end. Grateful for the waiting room (with tub chairs and water - I had no room to put any in my bag), the best supplied public toilets I have ever been in (choice of deodorants, soap hand pump, sanitary provision and baby wipes, nappies, sacks, wipes and cream) and being able to get to our taxi without intruding on the mourners for the next funeral.

Back at mum's we all ate (cleaner's day) and then waited for Mr and Mrs Builder. They phoned to say they were on their way (late but I wasn't sure mum had the details right and some of the jobs could not be done because of the weather. They have noted all the things that need doing and will come on Monday (Mr Builder wants to retire but has to settle for working between 10am and 3pm).

After frequent repetition we convinced mum that Mr Builder could not dig up tree roots or use a digger if we hired one (she thought I was saying it and kept saying Mr builder can do anything when I was only repeating what he had said). Some of her ideas I only heard for the first time yesterday and she still thinks they can all be done (we have said we will come up with 'solutions' - that don't involve Mr Builder gardening or woodworking). They have also suggested that she keeps the old CH control as they have a friend with the 'zapper' thing and it's complicated - mum doesn't do complicated and she won't learn new things easily (she ordered us to take the new phones out repeatedly for the first 3 weeks until she finally 'got' them.

I left shortly after the builders and was falling asleep by 6 pm. I have woken briefly and have put a load of washing on. Friday is film club but mum is waiting to see if she feels up to it, it's been a busy week and we still have the carol service on Saturday (and I need to sort some food deliveries and complain if the table has not arrived by Saturday - did get an email apologising for it not arriving on Tuesday).

He is a Sprocker x Sprollie (So there's Springer Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel, and Collie in there! :) ) - We met both Mum and Dad who are both amazing dogs, Dad in particular won us over...he's the Sprollie and is a working herder so was as sharp as a tack.

It's a slippery slope from looking to purchasing I've found. In the last 4 months it's happened to me twice now....I've gone to look, shown hubby and he's gone off to buy them (guinea pigs the first time, and now a pup). I'll not be showing him pictures of Caribbean cruises.....honest! :rotfl:

Payday for me today. This will be my last one for a while as I have packed my job in, my contract was being terminated at the end of December anyway but there was no way I was doing them a favour and staying to the end.

Plan to buy fruit and veg from the grocer today (without packaging - yay), do some cleaning, walk the dog and either run or cycle.
