  • Nothing major to report as yet. Still no luck with tax free childcare but they do contact me regularly (to try same thing that doesn't work bless em)
Some more money swapped around but that's hopefully it now so I should know soon all my new minimums. I think everything except a couplemof hundred pounds is interest free now. I'm wondering whether it's as easy to just pay that first as it would be similar to a transfer fee.
Heating has remained in so doubt I'll beat the target for Dec but needs must. Locally lots of people have had no water as main water pipe to bring water to houses has frozen. I'm glad it's gonna warm up from sunday

I'd pay the interest bearing debt if it's only a couple of hundred.  It will save you the interest.

  • Think I will. Far too much faffing about to move the last bit. I'm focusing on my debts at moment although still paying minimums for dh. His have interest but as fast as they are cleared they go back up again so I'm leaving his cards at the limits. Not mse with regards to interest but best thing with regards to that old lightbulb. Also have a vets bill with a couple zeros on so I don't know our actual debts total. Hoping covered by insurance, dh has arranged buy now pay later scheme. Klarna gets everywhere doesn't it......
Slow progress on mine but things should start to move from Jan onwards. Need to just be patient

  • I've been making daily payments to penny a day challenge. Lost track of all of them but have been doing it almost every day and have a chart to color in so well on the way. I have 10 pounds saved for Xmas 2023 so far

  • Penny a day challenge complete, no d debits as it's weekend and no Tilly tallies as the account is a bit low, and I don't yet know which one it's best to send it to. Ha ha.
Energy wise I sent readings at the half way point of December and we have spent 212 already and counting. Octopus crystal ball estimated our costs to be 396 in Dec which is my target to beat but the weather had other ideas. It's a huge amount considering for years we paid 125-140 a month all year round and it evened out. My credit is down to 250 which is eeekkk but the temp should be better next week which will help. So thankful we have been able to keep the heating on albeit at a slightly lower temp than we would have liked

I think it's definitely good to focus on your debts if DH's lightbulb keeps flickering.

Hope the milder weather keeps the energy use down a bit.

  • Well the temp has been in double figures so that's got to help the heating bill. My Xmas 2023 savings has got 18 in and I'm hovering around 2% of my debts paid. Slow progress but that will be down to balance transfers and that pesky thing called Xmas!
