A few pence Tilly tallied to debts, not that it will help any as DH had used his c card for vets, items for the dog. Low spend days as had to cancel most plans. Also doors being fitted downstairs today to help us be winter ready. And yes the logic of paying for brand new doors with a puppy hasn't escaped me but the joiner was pre-booked and committed to. I shall stop sulking now. We have rain and maybe might get a bit of a storm which is always interesting to watch. And it definitely feels cooler today.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

We didn't get any storms, well not of the weather variety. Mood in our house is stormy but hey ho.
I'm wondering whether to completely rework my one percent target to just debts in my name that I can see and track. I'm aware out debts are bigger but feel I might do this for a while whilst paying minimum on the others.im going to guess at DH debts. They all come out of the bills account but one I don't know the total owed. It's higher than it was though. I can tell by the d debit.

Sorry it's tough. I think it's a good idea to focus on your own 1% as you can feel more in control of that."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

Have swum a couple of times, tried a budget last night based on energy costs of 375 a month (I suspect ours may be higher)
That would allow for minimums and 120 food 20 per week petrol and non negotiable bills. Cuts out unison membership, contacts, etc which aren't as essential really are theyJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I've ordered a plug in watt meter reader thing to. I've been following a thread on the energy board and it's interesting to see what is costing people money. It's not going to arrive till sept but I will give it a go and see. We are above average use for gas and electricity and we need to be average or lessJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Hope the watt meter goes well.
I'm not a union member, but actually have been considering joining. I think at the moment, they are really important to fight our corner. However, it's hard when funds are so tight."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
I'll try and hold unison as long as I can. One of the main reasons being me and my colleague are in different bands for what has now pretty much become the same job (long story) I have asked it to be looked into before but new manager seems more willing. My wages are 20 p an HR lower/different from next band as I would move to bottom of next band - they earn a pound different to me an hr as they are at top of band.
Now the price cap is confirmed I can see 375 isn't going to cut it. But I have about 400 credit, we are all getting that gov money and I don't think I will go into debt debt with my bills till Dec or Jan. I'm kicking it down the kerb for a while as it's too stressful to worry about now.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

It is really stressful about the new energy prices. I guess we need to hope for a mild winter!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
We do. We all need a sun dance. I've been running the figures and following energy prices. Rightly or wrongly I've not fixed to keep me in the plus as long as possible. Figured I could afford the 510 a month to fix so I'll kick it down the can. I read somewhere that anyone entitled to cost of living payment if on tax credits will have it paid by mid sept. I'm not certain but I think we were so that's Oct bill covered if we get it.
The posts on f book about it are crazy today. I truly hope people have snuck a bit of credit in where they can and haven't been completely shockedJan 18 Joint debts 35,213
