I might join you in the sand. Just done weekly shop at Aldi 100 with two xmas presents in. Unsure if it will do the full week without top ups but definitely can shave a bit off if I menu plan properly. I got lax on this since we did the work in the kitchen. Now I plan in my head but a meal list of the fridge prevents the waste much better.
Aside from the food shop today has been no spend I think.
Had a nice walk so that ticks the exercise box to ha ha. House is a tip but you can't win them all can you

A few pence paid off debts today and a family activity for ten pounds, which we all enjoyed.. No plans to go anywhere at weekend so we can rest the purse strings again till next week.

And also 66 days till my last default drops off. Then to never default again I hope :)
DH don't disappear for two years yet but one step at a time.

I've used a credit card a couple of times this month as it's listed as one of my options for Amazon. Paid it within a couple of days. I'm hoping within the next month or so to remove that and just have the cards in the drawer for transferring about purposes. I just need to erase them from the site I think so I don't click on a the credit card option.

Not long to go then, exciting!

  • Thanks jwill. I will be glad to see the back of them..just hope winter doesn't throw us over the edge and risk us doing it again.
Low spend today, very quiet declutter type day. Small spend at a Gregg's outlet store for items for dinner and then a bit for the collection at church -both from my pocket so don't think it should count the same as coming from my bank hee hee.
    (I know it does)
Got my cash back today too. I'm a 123 lite customer. The only plus point of a higher utility bill is higher cashback, not worth it but I'll take it as a helping hand along the way!!!

Done some gardening, been busy for a long time and two metre's square of it looks better. One step at a time. I put some gravel down so hopefully that area will be more manageable now. If so 40 quid and a few hours labour well spent. I'll tell you next year if it worked :)

Thanks hope so too. It has a lovely big plant which I've worked round but there was also lots of ivy and nettles s. The ivy was taking over everything and the nettles sting. It may be I hand water the plant now it has gravel round or it might be ok now it's not fighting with the ivy. Either way it's saving me a good hour or two each time I attempt to weed. My muscles ache so so much today though.

Sun is shining again. Checked the gas and electricity meters yesterday and we are staying steady at under 25 a week. Have noticed DH turning some lights off. Just need to get everyone to remember to turn of TVs and consoles now.
Off to Tilly tally and check the accounts. All in the plus so that's a good start.

  • So I've been reading some of the threads on the energy boards. In particular I'm following one called so is anyone feeling a bit sick right now. It's rather interesting but pretty worrying at the same time.
Weather has remained warm here and we haven't had rain for a few days either now so everything getting very dry. Have had a spendy couple of days as have bought branded school uniforms and various boring things like that. Had two activities with kids today, both free and both fun so that makes up for it.
