Great news on the UC, that should help a lot.

I agree it's so much easier to eat well when on leave!

Thanks yes it's helped load. If we can get through this hurdle fairly unscathed and somehow manage the next energy price cap then I'll be happy enough just treading water for a few more years till they are all at highschool. I keep seeing newspapers reporting on how many people are in neg budgets already. I truly hope it's just click bait at this stage but I'm not sure it is.

Payday today, sun is thinking about shining and I've done the first money shuffle of the month. All accounts are plus, aiming to stay that way all month and reduce some debts. Smallest debt of 68 ish cleared this morning. Also cancelled my Amazon prime. I periodically sign up to it for a few months then get rid depending on things I need but I got the email this morning about it going up in price and it had such a lovely and easy to find link in the email to cancel so I clicked it

Happy payday!  Well done on cancelling prime. I think we use it enough to warrant the increase, painful though it is :(

Have been offered a full and final on the biggest debt 70% . Ah well don't have that but would have been a nice starting point to negotiate with

That's a great discount, what a shame, they always come at the wrong time.

  • Hi NeverendingDMP, I have read through your diary and what a tricky journey you have been on, what I have enjoyed is that you always regroup and rethink. Your diary really shows how much little and often money moving is so helpful! Best of luck, I will be popping in!

Thank you. Yes it has been a bit tricky, mainly due to all the new debts but then we have fixed the house so I suppose it was an actual need. Yes little and often and pennies do eventually make pounds

Good day today. Rounded down the bank accounts. Spent under a fiver on a top up shop, been swimming, kids been swimming and I think we ate some veg. Not much house work done but you can't win them all.
And I emailed octopus again to ask for a smart meter and if our house is suitable. I know it won't solve anything but can help us prep for winter without me sounding like a broken record. Dh has taken to referring to me as Greta cos I keep saying to turn stuff on when not in the room
