Yes sarahwithlove. It was a huge relief. In my wildest dreams I was hoping for 200 hopefully more so I was very relieved. It does show there are things out there to protect you, anyone who feels nervous of trying to claim benefits but might need to just try it. It's an utter PITA but it's got us through this sticky patch.

Sounds like a good overall day.  You've reminded me to see if I can book a swimming session for the kids next week.  It's free for them and I'll just have to pay for me, so good value.

I'm constantly nagging about turning things off.  DH is as bad (if not worse!) than me, so that's one good thing.

That's good for a free swim isn't it. We have a load of things going on round here this summer but it's only for people which get free school meals which is a shame. I'm happy they have the provision just wish we could pay a couple.of quid per child or something and have a go too.ive ordered three of those big fleeced jumpers and picked up a microwave today reduced in asda. Our last one didn't survive being out source of food during the building works. We did fine at first but I've missed being able to reheat left overs and microwave mash which as lazy as it sounds is far easier, cheaper to buy and cook and tasted okay as well.

Yes, I've always thought some of the activities for those on low incomes look great, and I'd love to pay for the kids to take part.  They get free swimming with their swimming lessons, so I really should make use of it more!

I couldn't be without my microwave.  It's so handy, especially on those lazy days.

Fleecy jumpers arrived. They are a hit- kids have them on already. House wasn't cold but at least they liked them. Just been for a swim as part of my attempt to get fitter in the summer. Almost had a no spend day yesterday but naughty me bought wine last thing. Hoping for some cheap spend days this week. Not sure many full NSD will happen as something always crops up in the summer hols
Have a good day every one

Great news on the fleecy jumpers and the swim!  I agree it's hard to have NSDs in the summer holidays.

Maybe better aiming for low spend days for the hols? I used to take out a certain amount of money as our "spends" for each week and if there was any left at the end of the week the HT could have a percentage to put away for the couple of big days out that we had. It's amazing how much more careful they are when their own income is a consideration.

Yes I think low spend days are the only likelihood. Did well yesterday. Few hours out lots of fun. 5 pound parking and 3.50 contribution for an activity. Can't complain.
Some direct debits went out to debts today to I've Tilly tallied to e fund.
EF currently contains 25 and with any luck I can get the debts sub 16k this month.

Current debts 16189.should have paid one percent of this month which is a good start. In in track to go below sub 16 but I'm wondering whether it is better to put the money aside for xmas as I am slacking very badly on that area this year and we are half way there.
Money moved so accounts ending in zero and more importantly in the plus (just).
Almost didn't spend anything yesterday but needed ink. Been swimming this morning and have an activity planned later with the kids and one of them has a night time club. it's absolutely chucking it down so plans may change. Otherwise aside from needing bread etc it shouldn't cost too much today.
