Thankyou. I'm really glad they are almost gone although if I don't shape myself I run the risk of being unable to pay again. Honestly wondering if my diary should be renamed  to oh s**t each day my debt has gone up. Still in the overdraft and almost at the limit. Honestly this is not my year I've well messed up. I don't pay childcare in July wage so that's 550 quid to go towards the overdraft. Just need to hold out till then.
It's do able I've just got to get through the SSP weeks within the remaining limit.

I have wondered if we will get more than 35 pounds universal credit next month I'd dh on SSP. Not entirely sure. Not expecting it but if we do thank goodness.

So another day and decided I need to look at the plus points.
Been here done that before so I just need to knuckle down again to solve this.
    Positives.
    No childcare costs next month.
    SSP is temporary
We possibly have qualified for the cost of living payment from government.
We are in credit with gas and electricity, only just but it counts!
I work for NHS so in theory may get a tiny payrise with back pay. A 3 percent rise would get me back pay of 100 pounds and an extra 30 in my wage each month
My wage will be about 20/30? Better this month due to changes in national insurance.
Aside from overdraft everything else is on 0 percent so I've time to formulate a better plan.
Mortgage is fixed for two more years.
Food in the cupboards and a roof over our head
     See that's better more positive.

My gas/electricity supplier offered me a fix of 438 a month the other day when the news broke about Oct cap. Think that just sent me over the edge. The previous week my offer was 328 a month to fix. You do wonder if they inflated the price whilst panic was in the news to encourage some more fixes. I've not fixed btw as I don't want to pay increased prices from now till Oct.

    Scores on the doors time

Dmp debts DH 2674 and 4546
Dh other debts 600? (I don't have the app) and 1036. O percent for 9 months

My name 2888 0 percent for another 15 months and 3573 0 percent for 6 months. Projected overdraft by end of month. 1000.

    Not pretty reading I know.

First target o draft. I've also got the offer of a 0 percent balance transfer on another card just need to see if that's any use at the moment.

Years since I used an overdraft and they are not helpful in budgeting are they. Makes things very messy. This is the first target. Aim by September or realistically by Xmas (hides behind hands)

Gas and electricity just over 25 this week. Not bad considering DH is off, we had a roast and I used the dryer for 20 minutes other day to finish the bedding. My summer bills are consistent at least :)

At least you are aware of the situation, and trying to take steps to reduce it.  You've got lots of positives there.

The overdraft is definitely the tough one.  I got rid of my overdraft and it's the best thing I've ever done.  I don't think I'll ever have one again.

So I got offered some 0 percent deals and did some jiggling. Overdraft has gone by way of moving it via money transfer.
    New scores on the doors

    Dh 565
    1036 inf free 9 months
    2674 on dmp
    4546 on dmp.

    2638 int free 6 months
    2906 int free 15 months.

Still pretty bad but bank account in the plus so can Tilly tally, budget and get around to these as and when we can. Future budgets depend on DH and work. After three or four months of debt going up I'm now going to follow the mantra of every day it will go down. Little and often via Tilly tallies and monthly d debits.

Well done!  Are you going to close the overdraft?

Yes I better had with my recent track record. I've had the overdraft facility in place for a couple of years maybe more. Used it by a few pence or pounds albeit rarely due to bad maths but recently have used it fully and in a bad way. Part if me thinks leave it till he's off SSP but that's a fools trick isn't it as if it's there I'll use it. Thanks for asking me directly as otherwise I may have just bumbled on. Off to reduce it to 100 pounds I think to allow for occasional bad maths only

Reduced to 100. Not quite closed but buffer in place for now. Far too many c cards to have an overdraft available instead. Although some was house work some is definitely cost of living and general spends. Strict budgeting from now on and paying  attention to bills!
