I'm hoping for some low petrol days in the holidays too. My son is at college so we don't have uniform to deal with any more (thank goodness).

That's a plus although I bet there's lots of other costs instead. We have 3 at primary school but one only has one year left. So one more year of wraparound care for eldest. At which point I'm sure that will swap over to dinners and spends hopefully a bit spare for us but at least it's an amount I'm used to already spending.

Gas and electricity just under 25 pounds this week. No gas used,.mainly standing charges. Wondering if I can get the electrify under 20 by itself. It was 21 this week. We have new led bulbs purchased but whether that makes that much difference who knows.

LEDs definitely make a difference, even over the old low wattage bulbs.  We've got all LEDs now apart from our bedroom but that will be changed to LED once the old low wattage bulb gives up the ghost (soon hopefully because I hate it!).

The LEDs are much brighter for a much lower wattage.  We have downlighters in the living room, dining room, utility area, kitchen, bathroom and hall.  The kitchen and bathroom LEDs are more expensive though as they need to be waterproof.  They were supposed to be waterproof ones in the utility area but unfortunately the builder put the ordinary ones in so we had a few problems with them initially as water somehow got into them and caused them to blow but all sorted now.

Wish my smart meters were actually working but they're not.  Had them installed about 6 weeks ago and still not commissioned - EDF are supposedly trying to sort out the problem!  Hopefully they'll start working soon and we'll be able to see how much we're actually using.  We've cut back a lot but whether it's enough for us to be in credit before the winter I've no idea - we'll just have to wait and see.

I know it still feels a lot. Gas I used one unit but with standing charge it was still two pounds odd. Electricity I'm not sure how we use so much, especially when we work/go school. We don't have a smart meter so I don't know what drains it but my guess is shower and washing machine. There is five of us so with appliances, washing machine TVs etc I'm not sure how much cheaper we can get it.

We are half led now. Might be worth buying a few more. I'm trying to prep for October rises. :(

I bought some LED bulbs and haven't put them in yet, I really should!

I think aiming to be debt and mortgage free within 15 years would be amazing - just think all that pressure off!

Anything that produces a lot of heat for a longish time. A kettle is only on for a few minutes so doesn't use much in one go. A heater though is on for ages....
