I'll be daring and make a bold plan! Our current debt is
7293 plus 76517 mortgage remaining.
The aim is by new years eve this year to owe no more than 7292 worst case scenario and less than 7000 best case scenario. Not including mortgage btw and i know its not very high debt reduction targets but im writing it down now so I can see how this pans out by the end of the year! Ha haJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Hope the kitchen refit goes well. Good to have a target to aim for! Good luck with it"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Good luck with the kitchen! Ours is quite old and since we changed the boiler it's an eyesore. The cupboards were built around the old one and the new one is slimmer and taller.
We're hoping to extend in 2-5 years so we're holding on for now.

So a little bit spendy yesterday and today. Yesterday was Petrol, dinner out, a fiver for activities and some birthday planning for the littles. Today will be spendy too.
Workmen due this afternoon, currently no kitchen sink or access to cooker but tbf that's only for 24 hrs and they will temp refit later today. Next stage of works defo needs to be done when littles are in school so school dinners during the day.
B day presents for littles all bought, just need wrap, cards, balloons, cake type stuff. All immediate family have b days in the next 10 weeks too. Must remember that this part of the year always feels v spendy anyway as a result.
Weather has been a little bit unkind as well. Trying to stay out when a storm occuring is a lot harder to do for free.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

So bad weather meant it wasn't really doable for us to stay out all day yesterday without spending anything. It was a good day though with the littles and we now have a temp sink plumbed in to the kitchen so it's business as usual here again till the next stage.
My grocery challenge has fallen by the way side a. I'm over budget but that includes a birthday takeaway and some food whilst out of the house. We did picnics in the car too this week but i have hone overbudget. Next payday month I shall try again. 3rd time lucky!Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Weathers a bit naff here today. Its windy but not to dangerous levels. Hope everyone else is doing okay as the random reports suggest it's not pleasant in other parts of the country.
No spend day and we are staying in away from the weather. Tilly tallies done to savings account. Not heard from full and final settlement offer yet but it's only been a few days.

Another no spend day if I discount the shopping delivery I've arranged for tomorrow won't through the cupboards first meaning I have t needed to go overboard.
I've also had a look at general finances and tried to formulate a plan for next few months as well. I can feel anxieties about money being all over the place so need to think ahead and stay calm.
We had snow which was very pretty but it didn't stick so no chance to play out in it.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Feel a bit better about finances today.
The card I normally use for shopping, petrol etc which gives me cashback is empty. I will prob use this for shopping etc and pay within the same.month as usual.
The 0% purchases I've started to Use for bigger items we need to purchase. This will have a minimum payment of 25 pounds for 18 months with the limit I've been allowed- although obviously we will then need to pay off anything still left on it and nasty interest would start to occur.
The money set aside for the house work is in the bank as yet untouched and I've looked at what else I can add to this over the next 2 to 3 months.
The 0% card is acting as a buffer. The ideal scenario is we park costs onto it for now and pay it all off once the tradespeople, cash type costs have all been sorted.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213
