  • The next one of my defaults has officially disappeared from my credit rating. April June and October left to go. Quiet day planned today as its raining and blowing a gale. Our house is v draughty so cold when windy even with heating on. The kitchen floor will happen this year though so that's got to help! We have a rug down on the worst bits for now

Great news about the defaults!  I think I've got one this month, one June and two next year then I'll be clear too!  The two accounts I've got left have already fallen off, so all my remaining ones are paid off/settled.

    Have a good day :)

  • Low spend day today. Bank accounts very close to zero so haven't tilly tallied.might have a look after to squeeze a few pence out. My cash back for my 123 lite account is due so can move that to savings. The plus point of higher gas and electricity will be increased levels of cashback. I can pretend that's a plus can't I LOL
Eldest has asked to swap back to packed lunches. School dinners are 2.50  a day so hopefully a tiny bit to be saved there too.

  • School dinners cancelled, random tilly tallies done and I got my money sent from the surveys. Logged in to the survey account to see another 10 pound in there, unsure why. Will try and get that up to the 12 pounds mark to cash out again.

Sent 50 as overpayment to the mortgage. Our more recent extra bit of the mortgage we got has slightly higher interest and we have to ring to overpay which is really annoying so I sent slightly more than planned whilst I was taking the time to ring them.   I will try and overpay again in a couple of months. Long term aim is to put all 3 parts of our mortgage into one when the defaults have gone and then refix/overpay into the one place. It will feel much simpler

That's good news about your defaults. When you start to see them go it really does feel like you have served your time and can start afresh.
All mine are clear which is amazing with the starting debt we had and considering its within the 6 years and my income is fairly low. The 2 we have left are dh. I made a cheeky offer on the one which was recently sent to debt collectors. Maybe they will just go for an easy turnaround on a new debt and accept it. If all else fails we will just continue our agreed payment. I figured its worth a try.

Always worth making a cheeky offer, one of mine was accepted at 10%!

Wow that's a good one. I Offered 30% so maybe that's not so cheeky. I figures if they had bought it for 10 or 20 percent last month they might just accept it as a easy flip around.
I also settled my biggest with this particular company at about 33%. I remember how shocked they were when I rang to do the payment. The advisor said are you sure it's that and checked it 3 times before letting me pay with a nice but wow I can't believe it tone!

30% is reasonable, there's a  good chance of getting it accepted.  I didn't expect them to accept 10%, I nearly fainted!

  • Not very mse but I have 2 credit cards on the go for this. A 0% purchases one for 18 months to allow me to maintain cash flow in my bank for the unexpected costs whilst putting day to day stuff on that (only If required)  I also have one with cashback for buying things I want the section number ? Credit card protection thingy for.
We have a pot of money available but it will be spent fairly rapidly over the next few weeks once we get going so I need some failsafe options and flexibility in ways to pay.
