  • Some tilly tallies done and some bills Paid. E fund has increased slightly and hopefully I can stay on track till next payday. Not expecting mega debt reductions or savings this month, just trying to tick over I think is the sensible target.

Food costs are gonna be more but the Aim is to spend less on petrol and other stuff whilst off and use it towards the next batch of school shoes in Jan.

    Good luck with it :)

  • Christmas was lovely. House is a total mess. Need to tidy up a bit today as I seem to cope better mentally if it's less cluttered. Tilly tallies done. I had a nosey at online sales but no purchases and nothing that took my fancy. A radiator and taps we were looking at are still same price so no need to rush to buy just yet.

  • Oh and I can't believe I haven't said yet.
We have curtains up again in the bedroom on an actual rail. No idea what my last update was but it all fell off again and the inside of the bay window fell apart with it, leaving a very draughty hole.
We have reboarded/plasterboard and have curtains again. It will need plastering over and the curtains are slightly too short  but who cares. We have curtains!

  • Happy new year everyone.
I've joined the grocery challenge, have spent way too much already and think I'm going to dry January to avoid any further wine spends. Tilly tallies done to savings and first payment made to new mortgages.
Ideally we will eat all the food in the kitchen now do we can start work on it and the floor but I'm nervous of eating everything then not finding it all in the shops again when we need it.
Also have been shopping at bigger supermarkets to get deliveries whilst covid in the house. Need to get back to aldi I think

  • Tilly tallies done And all uniforms prepped for school. Had a win, went to clarks for our Jan school shoes shop and all shoes still fit. Store assistant suggested another 2 month's unless major growth spurts. Excellent news as I'm normally 150 quid down at this point. There shoes are looking a bit tatty tbh but any new ones would be trashed in a few weeks with all the salt and grit that gets put down so I've said we will get them checked again at feb half term.

  • All children care paid for the month and tilly tallies done. The grocery challenge is ongoing but I'm failing miserably. That's what the point is though isn't it to see what you spend and be accountable. My month starts on the 26th so the big shop I did for xmas (got paid 2 days early) was always gonna make this challenge a tough one. I will carry out and see how close I can get!
