  • Last day of isolation for one of the kids then we are freeeee. Unless Mr boris appears on the TV and changes it.
Overpayment sent to mortgage. What a faff. Ringing up every time just puts you off doesn't it but I suppose that is the point. Budget scraping by as its almost payday but all going well.

Getting quotes for work and kitchen.
Current decision is Integrated appliances yay or nah. What do u all think.  There's 5 of us and we hammer the washer so I'm thinking standalone fridge, washer etc. Also it seems to up the price by nearly a grand to put all these things in cupboards and our budget is reasonable but not massive

Integrated appliances seem pointless to me and also really expensive, which of course means they’re also more expensive to replace when they breakdown.  I would certainly stick with freestanding appliances.

Thanks. I think I have converted dh. It seems to be the way to have everything tidied away but the expense of buying and the hassle if you had to replace really puts me off. And the shock of the quoted price 747 for an integrated fridge freezer and then about 400 to build a cupboard round it. I'm sure we can buy a super tall fridge freezer instead for a few hundred quid. Mse kitchen replacer is reporting for duty :)

I'd have freestanding too, so much easier!

  • Early payday so money shuffling and budget reset for the month. Gonna need to be careful as food shop and everything else always seems higher around Xmas . Will prob join grocery challenge again with jan payday. Not taken part in a while, will do me good.
    All accounts ending in zero.
Isolation of little one finished so we have enjoyed a couple of days of freedom which was definitely needed.
    Happy Xmas folk's

@NeverendingDMP - the January Grocery Challenge is up already if you want to join it.

I always run my money from 1st of month to the end no matter when money turns up in my account - I used to just use it when it came in early but it makes the next month much longer!  It's difficult to make a month's money last 5 or 6 weeks!

    Have a great Christmas.

Thanks. I'm not sure I dare do the Jan one. I'm a third of the way through my usual budget already! Delivery booked for today. Maybe I will enter but add 50 quid extra on that will come from who knows where. And see if that's a more realistic target
