This poll means that those wanting a thread are having their vote split - presumably those voting for the front page would prefer to have a back page rather than no thread at all? (I'm a back pager but this would be my guess anyway.)
So to keep it fair there should be eventually be a poll of no thread versus whichever option is more popular out of 2+3
It's getting more complicated than brexit:rotfl:0 -

That's what I was thinking. I voted for no thread because I wouldn't use it, but regardless of how many people vote for no thread, if enough people want a thread of some sort and if those people are willing to do the work, then it doesn't matter to those like me. If people are willing to do the front page, then those that work from the last page should be happy anyway.0 -
I know it's a lot of effort but I found last years thread really helpful. I just went down the list everyday and entered them all (although didn't win anything!). I remember there being quite a few comps and it taking around an hour a day. If they were added to the main competition forum wouldn't it be quite difficult to pick out all of the advent comps especially if some have different end dates? I totally understand if there isn't a thread because it must take ages to keep it updated.0

Advents always have an A before comp details - so can easily be identified.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

I don't comp quite as much as I did previously, but not having any kind of Advent thread seems a bit insane. I can understand why serious compers would like it his way i.e it gives them a much greater chance of winning and the casual comper would miss dozens if not hundreds of competitions.
Surely, it should have been better to ask if ...a) Have an Advent thread b) Not have an Advent thread, and if the result was a) Have an Advent thread then discuss how this was taken forward. Or perhaps the questions should have been "Is anybody willing / have enough time to collate an Advent thread?"
As it stands at present it looks like there will be no kind of Advent thread which will lead to casual compers asking 'Where is this years Advent thread'? and the answer will potentially be the selfish serious compers decided that you weren't allowed to know about them this year. (A pitiful 108 votes at present and I'll wager the number of people who use this board is waaaaaaaay more than 108 as most wont venture into this area)
Just all seems incredibly selfish this; which is a shame especially as there are already volunteers to run / assist in an Advent thread above ^^^
PS I'm also in agreement with starrybee and hazyjo in terms of how confusing the vote is worded and how it is totally geared towards not having an Advent thread. Whilst I'm sure your intentions are good here cornishpasty1 I think your options will ensure that MSE this year does not having any kind of Advent thread by the way you have offered the selections.UEFA: Corrupting Football Since 1954 #CTID0 -

I'm sorry but I thought the vote options covered all possibilities.
If you don't want an Advent Thread in any shape or form you vote for the first option;
If you want a Advent Thread you would vote for either of the other options (whether a proper managed thread or a thread where at least they are added on to the end).
I am not going to be around so have no preference any which way it is set up, I just wanted to start the discussion and it turned into a vote.#StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year0 -
Seeing as support for an advent thread in some form is split between the last two options B and C, would it not be fair to add the results of the second two together at the end. with what looks like the third option winning overall.
The third option would not require volunteers, just someone to start the thread or threads, I still think separating Web Entry from Social Media is a good idea. especially using this simplified format.0 -
At the moment the voting is for no advent thread - so this would mean Advents just being posted in Competition time with an A at the side.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

I did a post about this either last year or year before. I am used to them being posted on the main board with a A at the start, I find the 1st Dec i spend about 5 hours sorting the good from bad lol the ticks and crosses and i also follow the good prize thread just incase.
Just want to say thank you to everyone doing the Advents this year.Jan Wins: .0 -

Like I said, it's set up to ensure there is no Advent thread as B & C are to have some kind of Advent thread.UEFA: Corrupting Football Since 1954 #CTID0
