Only if they know a good electrician, you have been told many times in this thread that it was your responsibility to have the electrics checked before you purchased the property and the old certificates mean absolutely nothing especially as they not even dated. .Jarviscocker wrote: »Would I not be contacting my solicitor?0 -

@cajef I’ve told the thread many times that I was provided with the certificate as part of a legal requirement for the electrical work that was taken part within The past few years. So why is the solicitor accepting documents that aren’t signed.0

@davidmcn because I want to gain as much knowledge as possible. As my solicitors were the ones who request and passed on the document, therefore they are best placed as to what the form is for etc. I feel like I’m not getting a lot of answers on this thread that are relevant.0

The solicitor accepts documents on your behalf....why did you accept something that was unsigned?
Ultimately its your decision to purchase a property and you were the one who should have checked the document and clarified the situation at the time the purchase was going through.
If you were unhappy with an unsigned,undated document then you should have raised objection at the time,prior to exchange.
Presumably there was a point when you went to the solicitors to review your purchase and sign a contract?in S 38 T 2 F 50

You haven't told us exactly what your solicitors said to you about it. All the certificate appears to tell you is that at some point in the past, the electrician certified the installation to a previous owner. The relevant people to speak to about your electrics are electricians. I can't see you have anything to gain by going back to the solicitors.I feel like I’m not getting a lot of answers on this thread that are relevant.0 -
Well he may get another bill, he claims the electrics have been fixed now so I cannot understand what he wants, unless he thinks he will get thousands of pounds compensation for something that he should have had checked.I can't see you have anything to gain by going back to the solicitors.0 -
@davidmcn the certificate states it’s for selling the house (it’s further up the form and I didn’t want to show my/their details). The solicitors passed it on as per their conveyancing. It’s because the previous owner changed the electricas as per some building work they did.
Before I contact the solicitors, I wanted to know a bit more.0
