Morning all,

In bed with a cuppa. The most I plan on doing today is walking the dog and buying some winter bedding plants, my half term to do list is getting longer each day!

I spent most of yesterday doing jobs in the garden. Is it such a bad thing that my greenhouse is cleaner than the house?

Dailies are done and recycling is out ready for collection tomorrow. I've done it early as it will be dark when I get back later.

Both Christmas mincemeats are slowly being heated, with a box of long-handled matches on the side. I think I might need to burn off the alcohol after about an hour. We'll see.

Dog walked, superking stripped, some tidying done in the kitchen and various bits of cat and dog pooh picked. Chaps are arriving about 8.30 pm tonight, so I've got a few hours to do the necessaries. Good.

Baking mincemeat, HB??????? I always pot mine up raw, with brandy as a preservative, then bake it in (raw) pastry as mince pies. Would be interested to know how yours turns out.

Yesterday I managed to cross a few things off my garden list. Rosie keeps sitting on the patch of lawn that I have re-seeded!

DH is off to more wargames this afternoon and says he needs to take a pack-up of snacks that he is allowed on this strict diet. I am fed up with it already: good thing it's only for a couple of days, hopefully. I am going out for coffee and cake with a friend at a garden centre somewhere as yet undecided.

The house is tidy and I emptied the bins this morning.

Dancetowers is warming up. Apparently the CH pump had gone. BG man fitted a new one. To celebrate, my smaller kitchen sink’s plughole surround has come apart. It is ok with small amounts of water but not normal use.

Airing cupboard emptied and ironing done.

Glad it was entertaining! It often is, when someone is typical - all those traits you hadn't thought anything of individually suddenly link together!

Not done much today other than walked to church and back.

Bit more report writing and list checking next as the week will rush. Friend's funeral on Wed so hosting another friend on Tues eve as he's coming up from Somerset, plus likely another 2 joining us for dinner. Which means meal planning and shopping. Work Thurs. Going to my Mum's in Dorset on Fri, which means we need to fill and organise our Christmas charity shoebox gifts as mum is a coordinator.
