Not been doing much this week apart from working every day. I've been so tired that its been too much of an effort to turn the computer on really! :rotfl:
OH came home last night as a surprise. It was lovely, but as he isn't very subtle I guessed what he was up to and got the house tidy again in time! He brought me a shiny new laptop and an eeyore bed warmer-I'm so happy and its not even Christmas yet!
I just have to work Christmas Eve now, then I'm off for 2 weeks-yay!
Found out that although work said they were going to pay me on Monday, I now won't be getting paid until 31st after all. Rubbish-don't think I'll be spending much this Christmas.:heartpuls:heartpuls

Had a lovely couple of days, what a lovely Christmas I've had this year. OH is home and I got everything I wanted and more.
Got let out of work early on Christmas Eve, so I attempted to do some shopping, but people were queueing out the doors of the shops, so I gave up and went home. Saved me money though, so no complaints!
Spent yesterday with my mum, eating too much and I had a lovely nap in the afternoon. In the evening we went over to OHs parents and ate too much there too and got to go outside in their hot tub. Great experience for Christmas day, felt weird though!
Off to visit my dad now, should be nice.
Will update you all later with my plans to take over the world... Hmmmm, no thats not right is it? No, my new debt smashing ideas! :rotfl::heartpuls:heartpuls

I've spent the last couple of days trying to make sure 2008 starts well with me not spending more than I can afford. I've drawn up my own budgets and I've set up a couple of standing orders so bills will be paid when they're due without me having to worry about them.
Got my internet banking sorted and I've opened myself another current account so now I have one for day to day spending and one that my wages go into and the bills come out of. I've also opened up an easy access savings account and I'm paying in £10 a week by standing order which will go towards the wedding. Also any spare money I have at the end of the month can go in there, but its still accessible if I have an emergency. I got £210 for Christmas, so thats gone in there already.
It feels good to be organised, I hope I can keep it up! :A
Going to start trying to get OH to sort his finances out next-that'll be fun :rotfl::heartpuls:heartpuls

I hope he sees what you've done and decides to follow your example, if not persuade him by any means necessary! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

He bought me the Martin Lewis book last year, so he should've seen this coming!
He earns good money, yet he never has any left at the end of each month, so I'm going to start interfering and see if I can change that now.
I'm on quite a high from all this moneysaving I'm doing at the moment! :rotfl::heartpuls:heartpuls

Oh yes and I've won £200 on the lottery too, so thats helping with my good mood! Just trying to decide whether to spend it frivolously or save it for the wedding like a good little DFWer... :A:heartpuls

Why are Barclaycard so useless!!!
I decided to transfer a my Egg card and my Virgin card to them as they are both coming to the end of their 0% deals, but the can't make it easy can they?
First I phoned up and spoke to a nice helpful bloke who told me I had 2 options, either 6.9% for the life of the balance with no fee, or 1.9% until sept 08 with a 2% fee. I went away to think about it etc, as I've often rushed into these things and regreted them. I decided with the whole house sale coming up that the 1.9% would probably be my best option as I can pay it off entirely when I get that money.
So I phoned them back and asked to go with that. The woman I spoke to was obviously not the best English speaker and as she couldn't understand what I wanted, so just repeated herself over and over again. As a result I now have a new Barclaycard coming, as for some reason she thinks the one I have isn't good enough. Or doesn't exist. Or something, I don't really understand why, but there you go....
All I wanted was a balance transfer, its so confusing.
I also asked about how I would go about cancelling my PPI on the account. That was probably a stupid idea, but I thought I'd give it a try... She said I didn't have it on this account, but on my statement it clearly shows I've been paying it... How can they call that customer service?
Anyway, rant over now.
Not a very sucessful day, so I've given up on doing anything useful. I'm going to start getting ready (slowly) to go out tonight and get rather drunk so things are looking up!:heartpuls:heartpuls
