Coffee, Cake, Yarn - Chapter 2

Annnnnd I've got a slow puncture. It's actually never ending! It's not the end of the world as there is money in the car pot that can cover it, but I just don't like to see the balances drop. I like nice round numbers and no unplanned spends. Will take it to get sorted today because it's my car we are using for airport run on Sunday, and we HAVE to get that flight!
YS 'mince' with cabbage and cheese for dinner tonight, I've divided it up and worked out that the total dinner cost will be about 34p per portion, winner. And it's my yummiest most favourite comfort dinner. Must start sorting the holiday packing because I think I may need to pop to primark to get more socks and time is running out and last night I was so dead I fell on the sofa and didn't move when I got in.
Still no sign of deposit...

You have a car pot though and that's such a positive! At least it isn't coming out of what you've put aside for holiday!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,555.00
Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)0 -

It's just such an amazing feeling not having to magic the extra money out of the air for this stuff. Reminds me how far I have come in the last two years, and whilst the debt is still HUGE, not adding to it when there is an emergency is an equally HUGE accomplishment in my eyes.
For anyone reading this who hasn't started pots yet, go start them now. It's a game changer.
Someone was looking out for me today, nail in the tyre, only £27 to repair no new tyre needed :T:money:Paid - 7095/26218 - Total0 -
Random £7.45 turned up in my bank last night, council tax refund, wahoo! Also got an e mail to say 'accounts have been instructed' to return deposit back so should be with me soon. Even more wahoo!
Nothing exciting to report, apart from the fact I MUST GET MY BUM IN GEAR AND START HOLIDAY SORTING TONIGHT.

Hi Coffee!
Just been catching up. Glad to hear you and your partner are all cosied up and settled in
Excellent news on the deposit and the council tax refund! Great to see you've been able to top up your pots again!
Re the tyre, I had the same thing a week or two ago. Had a slow puncture and turned out it was a hole they could fix, so only cost £19.99. I had the money in my car fund so it was all there and ready to go. The feeling of actually having the cash aside ready and waiting was amazing! As you said, pots are a game changer!
Hope you have a lovely break!0 -
Annd I'm back! I had THE MOST AMAZING HOLIDAY. It was the best two weeks of my life, and it was all paid for upfront in cash. Got back on Tuesday and have been drowning in washing ever since. Holiday blues have hit hard haha. At least the Christmas break is just around the corner, although I have done a sum total of no Christmas shopping.... job for this weekend! Money already aside for it
And the best news is that I stayed well within budget for holiday spends, and came back with enough money to replace the hoover in the flat (YAY black friday sales!) and pay £200 off of my credit card. Happy days! Payday update coming.Paid - 7095/26218 - Total0
